I have a Compaq with Windows 98 and it takes forever to bring up pictures I have taken with my digital camera. I am trying to run Adobe 6.0 on it as well to edit them (which lags often). I have 184MB RAM with a AMD-K6 3D processor. Is it time to retire this one and get a new computer or would I be able to upgrade it far enough (and cheap enough) to warrant the effort? Any suggestions would be helpful! Thanks!

I need to get another ink cartridge for my Dell 924 printer and I was thinking about trying out one of the refillable cartridges. Has anyone tried those? Are they really messy? Or would I be better off getting a new cartridge? Some good websites would be appreciated. Thanks :o)

I want one with a fast RPM and it needs to be 160GB or so. I don't mind if it's a little less. Have up to 70 pounds to spend?? The seagate 160GB one in the sale I was gonna get from Currys is out of stock :(

I have several older model computers (but not all of the parts are with them) that I'd like to try to use the parts from one to get at least one or two up and running.

But the one thing that confuses me is those little wires (most are twisted as a group) that are attached to the case but connect to the mobo. One is the power button, one is the speaker, one is the HDD LED, one is the Keylock (whatever that is)?? and and the others are I don't know?

How does one determine the polarity of these wires if they're not marked on the wire or the mobo....especially the power button? What about polarity for the HDD LED?

This is confusing and prevents me from making a move to build a computer from parts basically......I need to know what goes.

The computers are too old to find anything on the web about the mobo's so I'm out of luck there.

What do I have to be concerned about as I try to understand what wire goes to what mobo connection?

I recently upgraded my laptop, from one 512mb stock and one 256mb stick, to two 512mb sticks of RAM, logically making it 1.22GB Ram, but it only makes 0.98GB Ram. Why have i lost some? I assume that because it is more than 512mb my newly installed chip set must be working correctly. The chip sets are PC2700, which is correct for my laptop. Thanks.

Eventhough, my hard disk capacity is 160 GB, only 10 GB is allocated to C drive, where all program files are loaded. From Internet, I down loaded many files and some of them automatically got loaded into C drive. Now the C drive is left only 800MB space. Defragmentation is not being performed upto the mark.

Is there a way to increase the disk space of C drive without removing any thing /file from other drives. All other drives are having 40 GB capacity nearly.

Please guide me in solving the problem.

This morning my monitor just started flickering along with a small clicking noise that seems to be coming from the monitor. It flickers every time it makes the clicking sound every 5 seconds or so. I think it's because it's being used in long periods of time and maybe needs to be off for a while.
