I'm planning on buying a cheap 40GB hard drive for about 70$ to store my pictures and videos in. I was wondering, are external hard drives dependable in keeping such media? I guess my only concern would be for it to not be erased or damaged.

For those who have experience with external hard drves/storage, I would really love to hear about your experiences with them, as well as what you would recommend.

years ago a friend of my told me that if u put a magnet infront of a laptop screen the magnet will absorb the data or w/e u call em, and it would go in to a blue screen showing problems(break it). is that true?

I have an Epsom C46 printer and I need to clean the print heads. I can't find my Epsom instructions so have no idea how to do it. I need to print off a project soon and the print is coming out smudged etc. Anyone know what I have to do?

I want my computer to appear like the ones in the "24" movie by Jack Bauer. So I am thinking if there's ever a way to PUT SOUND when a new window is open.

Like for example, when I am searching for something and a WINDOW opens, I want it to have a SOUND. :)

Is there a cradle or something similar that I can place my old semi-fried HD in and hook it up via usb to my other comp to retrive files? Doesn't Best-Buy offer some service which will retrieve data off of a busted HD?

My desktop was running very slow, so i opened the task manager and clicked the "Performance" tab and it shows the "CPU Usege" meter is at 100% (A graph indicating the percentage of time the processor is working. This counter is a primary indicator of processor activity.). There is no task listed that could be responsible for this neether. What could be causeing it to do that?

Does waiting to recharge a battery (cell-phone, laptop, etc...)untill it's charge is fully depleted, or almost fully depleted, have any affect, beneficial or detrimental, on the battery's length of overall life or it's ability to hold a charge? Compared to recharging whenever convenient, such as overnight, even if not necessary.
