For instance I have a Toshiba with a G card and I get 1400kbs but my other computer which is newer and also a G card gets only 300kbs

Both of them are being used wireless with no other computers connected to the network. I cleaned up the temp files and also deleted the recycle bin as I had read was recommended and did a disk cleanup.

are they both connected at once? if so that is were it could come into play that one is faster than the other. how far away it is from the modem makes a diff. obstructions in the way......or it could be the card in one can process info. faster.

It's also a possiblity the newer one isn't configured like the older one and doesn't process as quickly.
