Aint sure why your new card would crash your PC unless your power supply isnt big enuff to handle the load or you didnt read the PC requirements when you bought it! They both have their pros and cons but for clarity and brightness, I'll take a radeon any day! Just make sure what you select is compatible with your PC!

Do you realize that by asking that question ur gonna get a thousand people telling you why one is better than the other. They are both good.

Did you try using the latest Nvidia drivers from http://www.nvidia.com
by the time gfx cards have been installed on somebodys computer, the included drivers are usually outdated.

Some GFX card manufacturers fiddle with the stock nvidia drivers and usually end up making them worse (Leadtek for example).

Ditch the included drivers and stick with the proper drivers from Nvidia, just make sure you uninstall the old drivers and reboot your PC BEFORE installing the new ones.

ATI and NVidia are the two biggest players in making graphic cards(GPUs). there is no obvious winner over all, there only will be a winner in a very short period. but that's for the highest end of graphic card.

for the entry level and normal level like your choice, it wont make a big difference between the two. if you change a make of your 7600, it may solve the problem.

it depends on the task and the budget, for mid range puproses ati will generally come out on top, if money is no object the latest nvidia card is the best thing out there by miles.

i would recomend, that you get the latest drivers from nvida, also depening on teh card you have the powersupply might not be able to supply enough power to the card which can cause crashes. if your going for the higher end of the nvidia scale, you need to look at 500 watt + power supplys
