You need a RAM upgrade.
"Virtual Memory" is when the computer takes a tiny slice of your hard drive, and pretends it is RAM, because it doesn't have enough real RAM to do what it needs to. The problem with this is that the hard drive is exponentially slower than RAM is.
You desperately need to add more RAM to your system. It will speed the entire thing up, and your computer will not have to rely on virtual memory as often.
What would also help is if you uninstall old programs that you don't need anymore, and have a decent virus scanner (like McAfee) scan your machine and make sure there's no viruses/spyware/adware eating up your computer's memory.

You have probabaly got a lot of programs running on start up using up your RAM. You have a couple of options:
1- Find these programs and remove them if they are not needed, or prevent them from opening at startup by changing their settings.
2- Format your computer and lose everything, but the problem should fix.
3- Increase your virtual memory. You can do this by increasing Pagefile.sys. Right Click My Computer>Advanced Tab>Performance Settings>Advanced Tab>(Virtual Memory) Change. Then Increase the Initial memory and the maximum Memory. Try doubling them if you have the hard disk spce.
The other route is to physically increase RAM, but I dont think thats what you need... I think its the programs you have.

Try any of the following:
1) Fiddling with your virtual memory settings.
2) Buy more physical RAM.
3) Check to see what programs are running at start up. As soon as physical memory starts getting full, everything gets swapped out to virtual memory. Less programs running mean less disk thrashing.
4) Some programs never release memory. If you have one of those turkeys running, it will eat up swap file (virtual memory) space in a hurry. Check to see if the same program is running every time you get that message.

You really need to clean out some unused programs that you have, if you havent used it in a year, get rid of it. Thats my general rule. Also if you limit your programs that run when you start windows that will help too! May not be a bad idea to run an updated virus scan either!

go to control panel and click on system and click on performance,
then click on virtual memory and make sure that windows is managing you memory if not click on it and let Windows manage memory ... if you memory is low, you may have to buy more memory for the computer, or do a upgrade..
also check see what programs are running when you boot up.

its probably full of crap, not broken. at this point I would suggest a fresh installation of your operating system. dont forget to backup your important files and drivers. dont backup the whole disk because you will carry the viruses again.
email if more help needed.
