Windows, once again, has failed to start so I need to contact them. Does anyone know their contact information, and this is on a HP computer. Do I contact HP or Microsoft?

I have a 15000 RPM Fujitsu SCSI hard drive that I want to use in my build. the problem is, Im new to the world of SCSI, all I know of it is that it is an older interface, and that I need PCI card with internal ports as most motherboards do not come compatible with SCSI. These vary in price from $20 to $200. What is the difference? also, I am having a hard time finding a card with an 80-pin port (that of my new drive)? Any possible bottlenecks in speed I need to look for in this setup? somone please tell me all, I hunger for knowledge, lol.

I want to get a new laptop that will both serve my life as a student and a gamer. I want something that will easily run high-end games such as Doom 3 and World of Warcraft. It'd be great if I could find one with wireless internet capabilities. Overall, I am looking for a laptop that has a great video card, memory space, RAM space, and the overall works a gamer needs. I'd like to buy one around $1,500 (764 pounds). I'd also like one that is still pretty new on the market.

I flashed my motherboard to the updated version fix a problem but it made it worse and now it dosent detect slots A (0,1) of my motherboard. The old bios i written over is nowhere to be found because gateway dosent keep a copy of the old bios (those bastards), anywho, would a full system restore fix this cause im not sure simply because the when i disconnect the harddrive, the motherboard still has the bad bios(so im not sure if the bios would be affected by the restore) . Or rather does anyone know where if anywhere on my computer a copy of my bios could be in.

(I've actually asked this question already, but didn't receive a decent answer)

At home, in order to transfer files from my iPod (like my calender and such) and my camera, I simply plug them into the USB port and either a Windows Explorer folder or a wizard will pop up to help me move them. (You can also see them in the "My Computer" folder)

On my work computer, when I do this, an icon pops up in the tray that says "Safely Remove Hardware" I have changed it's notification status to "Always Hide," but it pops up anyway.

Also, the devices don't show up in the "My Computer" folder. And under the Device Manager, if I click on USB --> Mass Storage, I get a properties window - the same window I get if I double click on the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon in the tray.

I just want to copy the pictures from my camera! I had a different computer from the same company and didn't have this problem.


Can you please help me figure out how to put my pics on my computer? THANKS!

we all know that R, we can only burn once, RW, we can erase the thing we burned on a CD, and burn other thing again on the same CD. But, what is the difference between the "+" sign, and "-" sign? I went to staples.com before and tried to buy some DVD RW disk, then i saw for DVD RW, there are two parts, DVD+RW and DVD-RW, if these are same, why have to seperate, so i think there are something different. Oh, the same thing goes to CD ( CD-R, CD+R), so same thing as DVD? Thanks!

I've ran wizards upon wizards, nothing works. All of the things that need drivers are Yellow Question marks in the hardware listing (right?) My mom says if I cant get it fixed myself, I have to take it to Best Buy (geek squad) which is going to cost me 240 bucks. I tried to install the driver for my router to start off, well I went to the website, burned the driver to a cd. The computer can't install it because it is ".chk" file, containing fragments. I also have to network a fax/printer with my mother's laptop as well. If anyone can help me get all of my drivers back, or any methods of how, I would appreciate it.

I want to use my wide format printer to print on 12 x 12 paper. How do I get it to print at the bottom of the 12 x12 page? There is no printer page option for 12 x 12. (I am using MS Word) I've tried setting it for 13x17 and typing where it would be at 12x12 margins and it didn't work.

I am trying to burn a dvd. I Used Dvd Shrink and it worked perfect,But now im trying to burn it using Dvd Decrypter and it wont do it! Its sais at the bottom left "Device Not Ready (Medium Not PResent)".I dont know what to do! Here is the log too.....:

What's better the GeForce 7900 or ATI X1650. Remember to take into account ATI's Crossfire and Nvidia's SLI.

I know this is one step behind the leaders of the pack but that is the sweet spot in the graphics card market.

By the way no dumb *** answers like by a PS3 or Xbox.

I am looking to replace my HP 1210 all-in-one printe,r which cost under $100, 3 years ago. It used HP 56 and 57 cartridges, which hold 19ml of ink. In looking for a new HP printer, all of the all-in-one printers seem to use the new 21/22 or 92/93 cartridges, which only hold 5ml of ink. I am in law school and frequently find myself printing 40 pages at a time. I already feel like I go through my ink cartridges too quickly. Buying a printer where the cartridges only hold 1/4 the amount seems like it will not suit my needs, but I am having trouble finding one that will print as many pages as my current printer for a similar price. I do need an all-in-one for occasional copying needs, and I would prefer one that does not have a fax machine. I also do hope not to spend much over $100. Has anyone found a printer (HP or otherwise) recently that fits this criteria? Thank you very much!

how do i decrease the screen brightness of a laptop? I know about the Fn key, but it only goes down to a certain point of ligt and dark. i want to know if there is a program or ways to make it go darker than what it lets you.

Unfortunately, my laptop has been region locked because different region DVD's were played more than 5 times! Is it true that this is permanent and that NOTHING can be done to change it back to Region 2? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as i am truly stuck on this! Thanks people
