Good Morning (1:26 am)

It sound as though your PC does not recognise the device as being an external plug in and play.

Can you do the following things:

If the device came with a CD these are the drivers for the device. Normally these are not needed for machines above Windows 97 but if you do have a CD please install it's contents.

Ensure that the device is fully plugged in - try all USB ports.

When you have it plugged in follow these instructions:

↓ Control panel
↓ Printer and hardware (on category view)
↓ Check all the devices icon (i.e keyboard) to see if your device is listed
↓ If it is check to see if it is functional normally (shown in the large white box

If you can not see it listed go through the troubleshoot and visit the Zen website.

If you like as Ben correct stated - search for the drive the Zen is running from in Windows Device manager or My computer.

if you plug the player in, before using the disk, windows alloctes it as a drive letter. It gives it a windows driver, and the creative software will not find it, as its signature is allocated under windows.
You have to go into add/remove devices, and guess what windows has called it. It will be under device manager, as a disk drive probably.
You could plug it in, go to my computer, and find it as a drive, and drag n drop files. You wont get the advanced features of the creative software though, such as organiser.

i got a creative zen + for christmas
and mine isn't having any problems
except for when i had just taken it out of the package
and it froze after putting about 80 songs on it
but i just has to reset it and all the stuff was there.
so maybe you should reset it..
