I get internet connections via unsecured wireless networks. Will this LAN booster increase my ability to get connections or do i need my own router?

With the size of memory chips reaching 8GB each shouldnt the OS be run on these chips? It sounds like it would be a lot faster and you wouldnt have to worry about drive crashing.

What do you think?
I think there has to be a connection some where to the windows and the viruses. Since apparently this does not happen with MACS. You know like may be the manufactures who make the costly up dates and want to coax people into buying their costly upgrades by frusterating people into updating via the use of viruses and the fear of losing your lifes savings.. Some will say it is a conspiracy theory but follow the money who benefits when viruses infect systems? Some say the hacker but really so does windows or microsoft because you have to up date then or buy new. I have also have noticed that there is advanced notice of new viruses announced on the news before they appear with a release date. Are they physic? how can they know what joe blow computer hacker is planning?
Also coincidental that even though computers and viruses are so complex that an average Joe blow in Caynan knows more about how to infect MS Win that our educated than MS employees knows to fix it HMMMM

I just got a new Dell computer, and it is supposed to have 4GB of RAM. The chips are there, 4 - 1GB chips, but when I go to my System Profile screen it shows that I only have 3GB of RAM. Is there any way to check and see if I have a bad chip, or is there anything else that could cause it to show the wrong amount of RAM?

I moved all of the components from my computer to a new case, adding a new mother board, hard drive and power supply. I have power to the computer and monitor, but there is no display on the screen. Any ideas what could have gone wrong?

I got a Lexmark 5470 for Christmas, and I'm trying to figure out how to print more than one picture (different pictures) on one page. The software came with some templates that allow you to print multiples of the same pic, but not different pics. Also, the pics I want to print are not standard sizes; they have been adjusted in Photoshop. (I searched the manual and the Help section with no results.) Appreciate any help. Thanks.

For all of you MAC users out there Is it really true that you can surf the net even download songs with out getting computer viruses?
If so WOW. What a money saver. I bet alot more people will be switching to MACS before they chose to up-date to the new Vista Which is costly!

My laptop had a fault. The machine sometimes would not wake up from being in standby mode. I asked PC World for an exchange or refund and they refused. Put me through to Business Support, Spent quite some time with a Technician. The problem still persisted so rang and again asked for exchange. They refused. Tomorrow it is 30 days since purchase (22.12.06). Are they right to refuse? Am I wrong to ask? Somebody told me that PC World exchange faulty goods within 28 days of purchase. If so they refused to do so with my machine and want to know what is best to do. Thanks in advance.

Hi, I think the keyboard settings have been changed on my computer and dont know how to revert them back. For example, I have to push ALT 64 to get the @ sign, rather than using CTRL and @. Can you help and advise how to revert them back

I have been thinkin that i should switch to a mac. I heard that it is a pretty good computer better than windows. I have been a PC guy for 13 years. I heard macs rarely get viruses and most software is compatible with a mac. i want feed back from mac users and PC users. Also i heard Windows VISTA is a rip off Mac OS X. watch this.

The lens hasn't been cleaned for almost two years, and lately it's giving me a lot of coasters. I'm also a smoker, so I guess the smoke and the environmental dust caused the lens to get stained...

I already have 96% ethyl acohol, but I wonder if it is better to get isopropyl alcohol as it is widely used in cleaning solvents?

Also, is it ok to use cotton buds? The cotton fibre on these things seems pretty rough, so maybe there is some better option?

Thanks

When I plug in my laptop to charge it and I'm still working on it, it still shows a battery in the tool bar, instead of showing a plug with the lightning bolt. Same when it's completely charged, it just shows a full battery instead of the plug thing. I really don't use it on battery power that much anymore because I only get a half hour out of it. Could buying a new battery solve the problem? It's a Dell Inspiron 1000.

I have an iBook G4 Mac OS X and it only came with 27 Gb of memory. My iPod has 80! How do I get more memory? Do they sell something at Wal-Mart or Best Buy that I can hook up to my computer? Or do I need to take my laptop to the Apple store and add more memory? What would that kind of thing cost?
