You can buy expensive cleaner for laptop screens at the store called The Source formally called Radio Shack. I just use a soft cloth with isopropanol 99%--rubbing alcohol. It washing off everything and dries quickly. Works great for me.

Laptop screens can be a nuisance to clean, especially since you have to stay away from traditional cleaners. Anything with ammonia (ie. windex) you have to stay away from, but it is also very important that you do not allow any moisture to drip down inside the machine while you are cleaning the screen. You also want to avoid using anything abrasive, because it is possible to damage the outer screen of the LCD.

The best way I've found to clean laptop screens is if you have disposable lens wipes, either pre-wetted or not. These are designed to not scratch the surface you wipe them with. I would usually use two or three of them. Moisten the wipe (if it's not pre-wetted) and wipe the screen gently. I would repeat that if you feel like you need to get a little cleaner. Then I woul use one more wipe to dry (which again will only work if the wipes are not pre-wetted).

If you don't have lens wipes, or lens clothes, a soft wash rag would work. Again, moisten the towel first (this reduces the risk of dripping water down the screen) leaving a portion of the towel dry, and wipe the screen clean. Use the dry portion of the towel to dry the screen off.

These are the two ways I've cleaned my own laptop screen, and both have worked well for me.

well the first thing do not use anything with hard detergents in it or anything with ammonia. you have to be care-full you do not wipe off the protective coating on your screen. you can get a cheap window cleaner but make sure it does not have alcohol in it and that it says it does not leave streaks. i myself use diluted white vinegar mix 50% water and 50% vinegar then use a soft cloth like an old cotton tshirt. make sure you also do not use hard pressure while cleaning it so you do not damage your display. hope this helps.

It is best to use a material commonly referred to as "microfiber." I would not use a regular duster because it is more prone to static discharge which on the rare chance may damage your screen (very rare but possible). You should not use any form of liquid when cleaning the screen, not even water since its PH levels are harmful to the screen.

I use a duster - gets the dust off the screen and keyboard nicely! I also have an old soft cloth (that came with some glasses).

Try this cleaning cloth. You have to buy in packages of 5 but they are only like $3 bucks a piece. I have ordered them and use them on everything, especially cleaning computers, windows and clean mirrors. They are made out of tiny fibers. They are guaranteed not to scratch and all you do is rinse the cloth under water, wring it out and wipe ANY surface with no streaks or scratch. Use em over and over. I have not thrown one away yet!
I even waxed my car with it! I am sold on this ...I encourage you to try it out.

You should use what the manufacturer reccommends.
"Special Laptop Screen Cleaner"

Just use regular window cleaner like windex or some non-causting solution.

I usually use a clean very soft damp cotton cloth, like an old t-shirt that's been washed a million times, just make sure its 100% cotton.

I bought my staff 3M Electronics Cleaner which is an evaporatative foam for the various notebooks we have to support. This works on screens as well as keyboards.

I use the 3M Dust Remover in a can. (compressed gas duster) It removes dust, lint, & dirt from home & office items. You can find it at Wal*Mart, or in the computer department at other stores as well. It works real well on your car/truck dashboard also.
