i've run anti-virus, anti-spyware, cleared the cache, removed backup files, and my computer still runs slowly...any suggestions?

Your description of your system is rather fuzzy but I've run across several computers that slowed way down after some updates from Microsoft. The fix has been to add more memory in the cases I've seen.

You may just have a slow processor, not enough RAM, and too small a hard drive to handle your needs for your computer. I suggest buying a new computer with at least a 80 GB hard drive, 1 GB of RAM, and a 3 MHz processor. Or, if you know how to, you could buy just one or two of those new parts and install them yourself. Hope this helps, and good luck!

I am dealing with the same issue; i defragmented and clean the disk. Seems to work for now.
