I mistakenly bought a new dell printer (922) for my old dell computer after my lexmark stopped working/ I forgot to mention to the online person from Dell that I had a windows ME op system. (I don't particularly want to upgrade since I have all my files and info stored on my current system and am otherwize happy with it.) Turns out it won't work and since I didn't try to connect it for three weeks, dell won't take it back. You have to request a return in less than two weeks. When I asked about a possible patch, they claim there is none. Are they correct? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

I just got a gateway laptop and when I press INS(PrtSc) and go into paint, the page will not paste. Is there something I'm doing wrong or is it broken? Thanks.

I'm in the process of overclocking a Core 2 Duo E6600 on a Striker Extreme board with OCZ DDR2 PC2-6400 Platinum Revision 2 Dual Channel memory.

How far can I push the vcore (and therefore the FSB) without risking any damage to the CPU? I am using a Zalman 9500AT for cooling and so far it's keeping me at 33 degrees idle and about 49 degrees under load.

As of right now I am at 3330 MHz, (370 x 9), FSB 1480. VCore at 1.500 and DDR at 2.15V.

The CPU Batch # is L632B417, in case that matters.

The CPU box says max. 1.35V but I'm already past that without issues, so I'm assuming that's a "safe" max as recommended by Intel.

Yes, I am new to overclocking, but not to computers.

(Any other advice relating to overclocking would be welcome!)

Can I run it anyway? Oh, by the way, CAN I upgrade from XP Pro to Vista Home Basic?

My printers black ink cartridge was just refilled. I know for sure that it was refilled completely but since being refilled it printed only about 18 pages before starting to fade. It will not print anymore. The cartridge should still have plenty of ink. What could be the problem? (the pagess I was printing were simple black and white text)

I don't really care so much about burning CD's,DVD's or any of that stuff. I do want a flat screen monitor, and enough power to multi-task, ie surf, use webcam, and play online games at the same time without causing my comp to crash.

the sleep light was pulsing yesterday, i put in a fresh battery, still nothing. i gave up, tried again today, pushed the button on the battery (is that a reset button?) and i think that helped. (though it didn't yesterday, and it isn't right now)and it booted right up.time/date and everything had to be reset. i thought i was saved, turned it off for a few hours. now, NOTHING. not even the 'sleep' light is on...my life is on this computer, so i know i should be more of a techie, but i don't have a clue! oh, and my warranty is over, so mac won't bother helping me. any macheads out there got any suggestions about what i should try?

It has 1.2 GHZ & 256 MB Built in. Yes, it is running a little slow due to water log( the arrow keys do not work) but, still functioning. It may die soon but in the mean time still working. It does not close, you have to slowly move the top to close it properly. Some of the letter keys (20 to be exact) are scuffed off and some of the keys are dirty. Can someone give me some estimates? Thanks!

Windows sees the battery as an "Unknown device" in Device Manager.. if I let it find the driver by itself, it says "there was a problem during the installation of the device" (it finds it as Microsoft AC Adapter) and the othe unknown device says "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery. An error occured during the installation of the device".. Anyone, please find and answer because i've been trying for a week now...

I know the dangers of ESD to components inside the case but twice last night I got a shock from the outside and Windows rebooted on its own. Are there any suggestions for grounding the case? The ESD obviously is effecting the insides (the reboot) and I'm worried about frying something!!

Do I have to physically go inside the computer to check the power box or does the switch on the outside mean it is capable of 250w.
This is a followup question.
The video card I want to buy requires 250w.
So I want to know if the 230w specified on the outlet-located on the back of the case means I can turn it on to 230w.
Would that be enough wattage because the card says 250w.
Sorry guys,I am very computer illiterate.

If I currently installed my Brother MCF-440CN printer with a USB interface individually for each computer I own (laptop & desktop), can I eventually install the printer under a network interface down the road once I network the two computers (without any problems)?

Also, once I install the drivers, etc. does the USB cable need to stay connected to either computer or can it be disconnected (and then reconnected) until I need to print? Thanks!
