My printers black ink cartridge was just refilled. I know for sure that it was refilled completely but since being refilled it printed only about 18 pages before starting to fade. It will not print anymore. The cartridge should still have plenty of ink. What could be the problem? (the pagess I was printing were simple black and white text)

When a refill cartridge craps out, throw it away and don't refill it again. From my experience, they refill only about 3 times... sometimes more, sometimes less. I found refills too unreliable. I found some brands of "refill" cartridges no good. I found BRAND X cartridges fairly good. But for the best results, I found that the manufacturer's new cartridges the BEST.

Good luck and Happy Computing!

Fill a cup with about a 1/2 inch of hot water, let the print head of the cartridge soak for a few minutes, wipe it off, put it in the printer and immediately print something. One trick to make sure the ink gets fully into the sponge when refilling is to put the cartridge into a plastic bag , and spin it around for 15 seconds. This isn't a joke, the centrifugal force will push the ink evenly into the sponge inside the cartridge. Double bag the cartridge in case the bag has a hole in it. I didn't, and I got ink splatters over the kitchen one night, what a mess. If you get ink on your hands, or counter, use plain old bleach to clean it off. Best of luck, chow

The cartridge heads are clogged with something. It really depends on what type of printer you have, but on some it's as easy as taking a wet Q-tip and gently wiping the heads. This is why companies suggest that they rip you off by making you buy insanely priced cartridges. You would be able to refill them if they weren't crummy in the first place.

Every ink cartridge has a printer head and they can go bad when refilling ..I know...when that happens there is nothing you can do but recycle it or through it away...

The holes are the place the replenish ink is going in. purchase real HP carts from ebay. That way you will get assured effects - for an identical value as reproduction cartidges offered domestically.

check for leaks and just replace the ink cart with a new one not a reloaded cart.
