My Print Screen button won't work. Help please??

I just got a gateway laptop and when I press INS(PrtSc) and go into paint, the page will not paste. Is there something I'm doing wrong or is it broken? Thanks.

Try print screen while pressing the shift key

I don't own a laptop, this is a educated guess, hopefully someone will write in with the proper answer. If a key has two functions such as the Insert/Print Screen, to select either or function you might have to hold down the Shift Key and push INS(PrtSc) or turn on or off the number lock key. Chow
