i have bought a seagate 160GB hard drive. i divided it to four NTFS partitions: 30G, 40G, 40G, 40G. But the last partition cannot be formatted. Someone told me old mainboard cannot support large hard drive. So i download the newest bios of the motherboard and try but nothing improved. I wonder if it's the motherboard or hard drive's problem. anyone could help? THANK YOU SO MUCH!! harddrive: seagate 160GB 8MB buffer, 7200rpm, barracuda 7200.9, Mainboard: asus p4ge-v

Yesterday I was erasing my DVDs when I encountered a problem. While erasing this particular DVD I notice it was done and the disc did not eject itself out. I push the eject button many times but nothing happened. So I went ahead and eject it maunally. But my mistake was that forgot to turn off the computer to do. After I eject the disc ad restart the computer, I see that (there nothing in it) the drive can't open. I see its trying to open but it can't. Is there something I can do to fix this?

All of my settings in the volume control are turned all of the way up and the + button on my laptop was held down until maximum volume, but any sounds that I hear are very quiet like the volume is turned way down, but it is all the way up. Where else can I go to determine why my volume is so quiet? Any one know what could cause this?

When I tried to plug my ipod in, I got the power surge on hub port error on my pc. I then tried to plug in my ipod on the USB on the back on my computer and it work. What happened to the one in the front of my computer? I would really like to get this one fixed because is the one I use all the time

i have the USB adapter for it, i stick it in, there’s an option to open it as a portable media device, i click on that and it opens a new window for it. but i can’t transfer stuff into it. i can’t drag files into it, i can’t copy files into it, i can’t do any thing with it. i hate tried to reformat that did not work, i tried to copy and paist, that did not work. the USB converter is not locked. and i can't send files to it by right clicking it, and clicking send to drive, it says "please insert disk into drive". double left clicking does not work, it says again " please insert disk into drive".

Hello, in a different category of Yahoo Answers I posted a question about how to restart my entire computer as if it were straight from the factory. I was told to format my C: drive and then reinstall Windows. But here's the problem, I go to format hard drive, and it says that processes are using the drive and those must be closed. How do I format it? C: is my only hard drive, and one way or another some process is going to be using it. How would I format [completely erase] drive C?

The Toshiba A100 - 147 was available before Christmas in PC World, Dixons, and Currys for 749 euro.
Stocks ran out, so I was unable to get one, but I was assured that it would be back in stock after Christmas.
Now, in the sales, it is 799!!!
Why are these stores ripping off their Irish clients?
What is the best way to deal with this robbery?
I have spoken to the three stores, and they are not the slightest bit interested in customer irritation.
It's just take it or leave it.
Would appreciate your views.

I have a Dell Dimension Desktop PC. It was purchased about 2 years ago, more or less, and I never use it because it takes forever to load up, and I think it's because I've installed hundreds of programs that launch at StartUp. So, my question is, in this case, should I just totally restart the computer from like square 1 (e.g., as if I just pulled it out of the box?) and how would I do this? (I'd like to take it back to the original Windows Xp setup screen, and set it all up over again.) How would I do this? Thank you

I have a new widescreen monitor and need a new graphics card. Mine is ancient and will not view properly (yes, I've checked). I'm not a gamer, but use my pc (XP Pro) mainly for internet and picture viewing/editing (some video and dvd playback). I don't need a super high end card and would prefer to go the inexpensive route as I'm looking for a PCI card. If I had to spend a lot I would just buy a new system.
