Perhaps I didn't word my previous question correctly, I don't want to stop all the startup programs from loading. I'd really like to start the computer all over again, without all the crap. If someone could please tell me the steps/precautions to take in order that'd be great.

Did you get a CD/DVD shipped with the box to restore the software? ususally you need to boot from this CD/DVD and follow the steps.

And I'll say it again. Stick the OS CD/Resource CD used for reinstallation in the CDROM drive, reboot/boot up, press any key to enter setup (change BIOS if you need to for boot sequence), clean install, delete partition, repartition, format with NTFS, setup will do the rest..

try restoring your pc if you use win xp this is what u shud do:
press start - all program - accessories - systme tools - systme restore. thats the only way if you want to maintain your files there.

you may also, reformat your drive then re-install windows. but make sure that you back up your files before doing this.

Easy. Format (erase) your entire hard drive and reinstall your OS (Windows, etc.).
