Few Things you can do like everybody says adware spyware virus's can all make your pc run slower if you cleaned everything out still running slow then its the Mb or ram its self thats not able to keep up then you would look into buying more ram basicly should always have atleast 1 gig of ram not like it cost an arm and a leg if that dont work then you might be infected with a virus that nobody has picked up on yet see the way it works is people make these virus kits the complie it into an .exe format and when you open one on mistake nothing comes up but behind everything it runs and you would never know its there because they have ways of blocking out the virus scanners and intill the virus goes wrong or they finally update there list then its found and passed on to everybody eles datebase.Hope this might help some and look on the bright side you could always try a few some people wouldn't think of

You need to use a software to remove any spyware or adware. Like Spyware Doctor. Also you need to use an antivirus like NOD 32 witch uses a small amount of memory. And if you go to Start->Run->write msconfig->go to Startup and unselect programs that you don't need. This way your Windows will start faster and will work better. You need also to clean up the HDD by running Disk Cleanup in all your partitions.
If you want to defragment your HDD use O&O Defrag. You can also clean your register with TuneUp Utilities 2006 (2007 Beta).

Working with a slow computer can be time consuming as programs/ applications take a long time to start. This problem is more pronounced in computers which have been used for 6 or more months. More information at http://fixit.in/slowcomputer.html

Here are some suggestions:

1. Backup all of your personal data.
2. Reformat and reinstall your OS (e.g. Windows XP or OS) to ensure that spywares, trojans, adwares, malwares, graywares, and all X-wares/viruses/worms/malicious codes are removed from your existing machine.
3. Ensure you install Windows Service Pack 2 (before u plugin to internet via dial-up or cable or dsl)
4. Install a good antivirus + antispyware + firewall
5. Plugin your computer to internet
6. Install Microsoft Windows Service Packs (up to the most recent ones)
7. Ensure your Antivirus is having LATEST antivirus definition files (normally daily updated antivirus definition files and anti-spyware definition files). Do a manual antivirus update if needed. Most antivirus sw have enabled auto-update which is the best and recommended setting.
8. Install latest browser versions and ensure its latest service pack is also installed.
9. Ensure that you have only 1-2 local administrator accounts with a complex password (at least around minimum 8 to 10-characters with mixed capital, small, alphanumeric character for a pw combination). At least 2 local accounts in case you forgot the main local admin password. Some rename the local administrator acct for security and logical reasons.
10. Do not create folder shares nor install Peer-to-peer software that auto-share your folders.
11. Do not go to porn websites (they normall attach trojans and spywares that eat up most of your machine resource)
12. If you install new software, if you can avoid not to have it configured to start during computer restarts, do it.
13. Set unneeded applications/OS "services" to disabled or manual if not frequently used.
14. Maintain at least around 2-4 Gb of system drive space available on your computer.

That's it, enjoy a hassle free and turbo-charged PC.

It may be your ISP (internet service provider) are u using dial up? has it ever ran at a decent speed? and your connectors are u plug directly into the phoneline or did u have to add a spliter because using any type of spliter slows up transmission as well as not delivering all the signals properly. So u must use direct contact without any type of extenders or splitters.

Ask a friend who you know in real life who is good with computers. This way they can see what is wrong and give you specific advice and show you how to do it. If someone tries to explain it on here and you don't understand you might end up messing up your computer even more.

You could try getting some free Antivirus and/or Anti-spyware programs.

First of all check how much space is left in your local hard drive. If it is too low i.e below at least 8 GB then that's the problem. You must uninstall all unwanted programs from the drive. Another problem is, you may be having a low capacity RAM and you are using high resolution softwares. Please avoid that or buy a new RAM.

If cleaning your files doesn't help, try cleaning your computer physically. Take the side of your case off, you may have some dust clogging your fan.
DON'T FORGET TO DISCONNECT THE POWER!
