i already know how and were to put the hardware in the computer

but

is there anything else i am supposed to do after adding the hardware??

like if i am supposed activate it or change certain settings on the computer after adding the hardware.....

or do i just put it in the computer and leave it???

I am looking to get a computer. I currently have a laptop from 4 yrs ago and am frustrated at how slow it is. I do not game, but want a fast computer I can run several programs on without waiting a long time. I also want something that I won't have to upgrade for a while. How does this look for specs? It is a Dell E520 btw.

Also, is duo core the way to go? I know it is better than P-4, but does it matter if I am not gaming? I don't want to have to update it in the near future, and thought it might be a safe way to go.

the games which barely reach 20 frames on the celeron, reach up to 50 frames on the pentium 4. Is this possible? I mean is the performace difference this much for these two cpus or is it something other that is affecting the performance. All the other settings are the same

I've been getting this message for awhile. But I've gone through my computer and gotten rid of things like PC games I used to run (Max Payne), I've gotten rid of files I don't use anymore (even though I had so much more on here before this started happening... anyway, I've been keeping my Internet Explorer files deleted and am running virus scans quite often. Is there something I can do to correct this? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I had to totally reboot my computer recently because of a major problem. I then had to download everything again for my computer. This includes my printer but I cannot find the installation disk. I'm trying to install a new hard drive but I can't set it up because my BIOS is protected. Is there a way to install a new BIOS or bypass the password? I can't boot from either floppy or CD.

I'm looking to get rid of my Lexmark x75, I hate it. It's not all that bad, but the color cartridge seems to run out or dry out within a week. I don't do a lot of color printing, but I want it to be there when I do need it. I'm looking for something reasonably inexpensive, as I'm just using it for at home use, but I don't want a piece of garbage. I want something that prints decent quality, and has replacement ink for a decent price, or at least ink cartridges that last a little while. Thanks

when it comes to printers. Bought a Lexmark Z730 printer
that won't print. Neither will Z611 printer I had bought before that.
Have Windows XP and dsl line is "ethernet". Any advise would
be helpful. And , yes, its installed, sends every printer request to
queue, but no luck with hard copy.
