John is right! Plus HP’s are junk! I have a brand new 7680m with Duo Core, 4 gigs of ram and so on. It’s the most unstable piece of crap I’ve ever seen, and was that way right out of the box. I wished I’d of bought a Dell Desktop. Never had a problem with my Dell laptop!

Oh and as for the computer taking forever to shut down? Mine does too! I discovered it’s partly because of Norton and partly because of HP’s update/monitoring program. Which I have tried to shut down in it’s options menu but it never has. Never buy

There might be some settings you need to check.

Try this:

1) go to internet options / connections tab
2) check lan settings make sure that no boxes are checked it there.
3) proceed to advanced tab and click restore defaults

close your browser and reboot computer.. make sure you completeley turn off everything including your modem.

It should fix the problem :)

Is their a CD at present inserted or is it empty?? If their is a CD interior it sounds like its jammed. Get a skinny needle or something similar and also you need to be able to locate a small hollow on the outdoors of the cd drawer. Push this and it is going to rigidity the drawer open. reliable luck..:)
