Just put it in according to the instructions
However, I recommend touching something metallic before handling the memory, to dissipate static from yourself, as this could damage the memory.
Good Luck!

I've done a lot of that, and so far I haven't ever had to do anything besides installing the actually ram. You should be fine. To make sure, go to Control Panel, then click system. On the first window that pops up, it should tell you how much ram you have. If that number is correct, then your install worked. Good Luck!

It depends on your computer, if it is old when you turn it on get into the CMOS setting and see the ram you added if it is there and more than you had before save and exit.if your computer new the computer will recognize the ram you do not have to do any thing.

Well first when you install it make sure the computer is off and unplugged. Install the memory and then plug it back in and boot it up. The computer will recognize the new memory on its own provided it is the right memory.

the computer should recognize it automatically. I normally go into the BIOS to confirm that it sees all of the memory.
