I'm trying to format my c drive but it wont let me because its saying that I'm using files thats on the c drive. I closed out of everything that would let me and I even tried to go through sofe mode to do it. am I doing it wrong. Please help me format my c drive!!

On my video card there's a circular place for a cable to plug into, it has 4 holes on top of 3 other holes, what is it? Is there such a cable that would hook that to a TV with an RCA a/v cable spot?

i 've having this BIG doubt for over quite a long time now ..How much power does a normal PC take ? ..with monitor switched on and without switching on the monitor .. ? Some of ma frnds were telling like a PC with monitor switched of does take only little power ..like about 10-20w or sumthing ? Is this true ? I believd this and i had listened to music by switching off the monitor ..but about a few days back i heard the other way ..since pc has an SMPS unit ..it takes almost 100w ..!! Is this true ?? I'm confused ..HEEEEELLLLPP !! ....my configuration is P4 ..1.7ghz..256 DDR RAM ..nvidia FX5200 graphics card..

I picked up a Satellite P105-S9722 last week, but I haven't opened it yet, as I'm still trying to decide if it is worth it.I think the big thing that concerns me is the 4200rpm 200GB HD.I'm still trying to figure out just how bad the performance of this laptop would be due to the slow hard drive. In a worst case scenario I was thinking of upgrading the hard drive myself, but I can't find any documentation on what is involved in upgrading the hard drive of a P105 (Toshiba's docs only cover memory module upgrades).I'm not expecting the hard drive to perform as well as a 5400rpm or 7200rpm hard drive, but I'm wondering more about what the real world impact will be of a slower hard drive? Just slower loading times, or will it cause real hiccups, etc. while playing games as well? How will games like HL2, Dark Messiah of Might & Magic, Oblivion, WoW, BF2, etc. perform with a hard drive like this?

i have $$1500 and i want the best pc i can buy, i only need the components, i dont need monitor, case, mouse, keyrboard, or speakers. I want dual core...about 2GHz or more, 5.1 suround sound sound card and a PCI Express 256 / 512 video card, and 1 GB of ram DDR 2....what should i get. please write the model of the hardware and the company that made it and its price. I am wanting to sell my computer VIA ebay or one of my local friends. The reason is I wish to upgrade to the new intel Duo for my purposes. Heres my specs, how much I sell it for?
Dell Dimension 4600 Pentium 4 3.0Ghz HT Technology.
1024 Ram, a GB of Ram, 2x256 What came with Dell, and 1x512 Kingston Hyper X Ram, all ram has alluminumn cooling on them.
40GB Main HD, Standard that comes with Dell.
160GB Backup HD, I keep all my music on. 7200 RPM Maxtor
CD RW Drive as slave. Has max CD RW speed of RW drives.
DVD RW Drive as master 16x max current speeds.
256 Ram Xtasy 9600 (Ati Radeon Card) AGP
Note: No floppy drive came with the machine.
Note: Only problem ever with the machine IS current, the integrated ethernet does not work (has been frozen since a halo lockup during gameplay, but there is a new thernet card I installed which does. Also has a PCI DUAL fanning card. (2 fans blowing with a nenon blue light to cool the system. The board features integrated 64MB grphx, its off.

i have a 512mb nvidia geforce 7300 SE and i recently downloaded a driver and i can already see the difference but there are some setting i dont understand and pls help me so i get the nest results out of my graphics car>

1. what does antialiasing mean and what setting should i use: off, 2x, 2 xQ or 4X

2. what does anisotropic mean and what setting shall i choose off, 2x, 4x, 8x 16x

3. and the monitor i have is a flat panel which has a screen resultion of 1440 by 900

what setting shall i use to get the best graphics which are smooth thanks!!!!

I have the computer FUJITSU SIEMENS - SCALEO P.
When i try to burn an audio CD it doesnt seem to work - the buffer level doesnt seem to be active.

I use Nero.
The drive i have is - HL-DT-ST DVDRRW GSA-4164B

Could somebody please help me out. I really want to burn audio CD's!!!!

my pc is fast enough for games but i think the video card is letting it down?
my pc is
AMD AM2 3800+ CPU
1GIG OF RAM 4200 533MHZ
200GIG HDD WESTERN DIGITAL
BUT I STILL GET A SLIGHT JERKING ON SOME GAMES EVERY NOW AND THEN? NOT SURE WHAT COULD CASUE THIS?

It's a Sony Vaio which is currently a bit over two years old. I tried uninstalling the driver and re-installed it. The strange thing is that it can read DVDs but not CDs. The drive usually doesn't work and then might work once in a while. Also, please answer only if you know what you're talking about and don't just say "replace it" or "get a new one" because that really doesn't help. I'm thinking about it but it's kind of what I'm hoping should be a last resort.

I reformatted my laptop, not realizing that afterward, I would not be able to reinstall the operating system (Win 98) from the CD that I have. After reformatting, it no longer recognizes the CD.
I have obtained a Win 98 boot disk - but it attempts to reinstall the cd driver from the floppy (I also have a similar DOS boot disk). The problem is that the cd-rom can't be connected at the same time as the floppy - so it keeps saying something about no device found. Obviously if the device isn't connected it can't find it. I have tried copying the files from the A: to the C: drive, but the cd driver installer doesn't automatically run when I reboot, and the program that I think controls this says 'bad package' or something like that when I try to run it. How do I get around this?

Does it cost less to build it yourself or to get it from a manufacturer? I know just buying one is easier, but I I want to build a really high-end Computer with a 1.5TB HD, 2GB of memory, an ATI Radeon X1950XTX 512mb DDR4 PCI-E Crossfire setup, a ATI All-In-Wonder with TV In/out, HD Audio, Intel Core DUO (or Whatever is Intel's fastest Double CPU setup) Running on Windows Vista Ultimate (I own an RC1 Copy). I could buy the motherboard, tower, and all the other stuff, but will it cost more? It'll be hard work building, but will it be worth it? I won't have any Tech support, so If anything goes haywire, I'll be standing alone. Or will it cost more with buying the whole setup. If not my extreme-gamer setup, Is it better to build your own PC or to buy one from the store?

I bought my laptop in the states, and am in prague now. I bought a dvd to watch but my computer says it is out of my region and will not play it, my roomate has a mac and his has the option to change the region, I have a dell and am running xp media edition it seems that I should have a similar option but have been unable to find it, any help would be appriciated

i am trying to fix a pcmcia socket on a compaq armada 4210 (windows 98) and i have the drivers for the devices which are going into it(cd-rom,network card) but it also needs a pcmcia cable driver(and not the windows defualt one)
does anyone know where i can get this driver from or has anyone got it,this is a last chance question as this is driving me mad,i bet its only about 500kb but it may as well be 500mb for the amount of man-hours i have spent looking for it
