os hangs on bootup,?

bootup very slow, i beleive its missing a startup file

Which OS are you referring to? When was the last time the computer booted properly? What did you install since the last time the computer worked properly? You may want to go to Safe Mode, disable the program or hardware you last installed that may cause the problem, and begin the troubleshoot from that point. You are not providing enough information to help resolve the issue.
