I'm going to use this card for gaming purposes.
Note: the ATI is GDDR4 and Geforce is GDDR3.
Some expert advice would be appreciated.

Thank you Eng, at leat someone gave a good answer. He is right of course, the Radeon is clearly the better of the two. The GDDR4 does make a difference, in fact it is the presence of the GDDR4 that makes that 2Ghz memory clock possible. He is right, I just that I would give him a little backup since there were so many crappy answers given.

the X1950XTX
even though im a hardcore geforce fan, i'd have to say that the X1950XTX is much better
put 2 of them in Crossfire, and you have a vga setup more powerful than Quad SLI
the Gddr4 and Gddr3 really don't matter
and no the X1950XTX is not DirectX10 power
it is still DirectX9
but the mem clock is 2000mhz on the X1950XTX
that is 2ghz!
while the 7900 GTX is about 1600mhz
both the mem and core clock of the X1950XTX is more powerful
than the 7900 (i think)

If you're going to be playing mainly games based on the Half Life 2 engine, you're a bit better off with the ATI. In all other cases you're better off with the nVidia.

4890 has the superb cost/overall performance ratio. and it is swifter than the 260 i think. d-devil above me is likewise desirable the 4870 is likewise the main substantial card, and you get extra bang on your greenback.
