What motherboard would fit into an Hp Pavilion 8756c that supports pentium 4 and 1000gb of ram ? would i need anything else ? As of now it has a pentium3 857mhz 370 socket 256mb of ram.

I use dial up and would like to kno how can i speed up my internet connection. Kinda want to avoid all those programs that i have to install in order to speed it up but if u wish u can name them. I Have a conexant SoftK56 Data Fax modem on a Gateway NX200S Laptop running Windows XP Home edition Service Pack 2 and all. Laterz.

I have an intel motherboard with built in audio card
I have lost the CD of the motherboard and i reinstalled windows and i cannot make the audio driver of the motherboard to work, the sound comes out from the motherboard small beeps,
I think it is a realtek audio driver, where could i get the installation file?

I've got the Logitech Z-5500 speaker system, and have a smaller-sized computer on top of the sub. Is this bad? Will it cause any sort of long-term deterioration in my computer's components? I don't have huge vibrating bass playing a lot, but sometimes watching movies I'll turn it up and it will shake things pretty good.

I'm about to purchase a desktop PC but I don't know whether to get a DVD writer or a Combo Drive. Is it better to get a DVD writer? And is it advisable to always use the DVD writer as a DVD reader? TNX!!!

I thought there was only windows xp home and xp pro. My comp kept bugging me to update though I had xp pro on my system. Once I updated, it keep showing it as xp 2 somrthing. My comp is all wack and there is no way I can uninstal. It's firewall has shut out my aol. Now I am without internet and cannot open AOl though through AOL adapter I can be connected on line and thus download stuff that is only accesible online. What is this all about and can I get back to my xp po??

I just bought a new dell notebook, norton ghost came preinstalled on it and for those who dont know what norton ghost is, its a back up utility. so my hardrive is configured so that 26gb is set aside for backup. so when i go to my computer there's two dirves one's the C drive which every one is familiar and the other one is the D drive this is the back up drive set aside. I want to know how to remove it.

My laptop has gone so so so slow. When I turn it on it can take upto half an hour to start up and the same when I turn it off. Its slow and annoying. Anyone know how to sort this out? It a Toshiba A60-672.

I want to burn quality movie dvds and some data dvds (mainly as backups). This will be an internal drive in an emachine desktop.


Do I want DVD +/- RW , or just a DVD + R or DVD - R

is it best to get the first one so it is more universal and can both read and write to all media?

What about speeds? I've been looking at 4x, 8 x, or 16 x

What brand do you prefer? Sony, Lite-On, NEC, Pioneer, etc.

What about software? Nero is usually the standard.
