One of the easiest ways to ad a burner to a Desktop is with an external drive which connects via USB or Fire Wire. You can get one for about $40 from Tiger Direct or New Egg. External DVD burners start at about $75. If you get one that is USB 2.0 Hi Speed compatible, they can work almost as fast as an internal. I used an external TDK drive for years with no problems.

Depend if it Serial ATA or Parrell ATA (old style). Most likely it will be PATA, so it will come with a labeled cabel, master and secondary. One end should be blue that will be your main connection to the mother board. The master goes to your hard drive and secondary goes to your CD rom. or if your using 2 cd drives one will be master and the other slave. You need to verify the pin settings before you close the case to make sure you dont have any problems

Its very easy. Most cd burners come with instructions or you can get instructions online. It is pretty much as simple as connecting a couple of wires from your mother board.

it is easy, if you are replacing a CDROM with it just unscrew the old one look on the back at the jumper (little piece of plastic) and make sure that the two match, ie (bother set to slave or master). Put your new CDRW into the computer, put the panels back on and your done! :D If you are adding it as an additional drive, you want to set it as either slave or master depending on what the other drive is set to. ie.. if your current cdrom is set to master, make your new one a slave. plug both drives into the same ribbon (you will see what i am talking about) and plug the power plug into it. Pop the panels back on and your done.

It's not hard at all as long as you fit just into the ridges. Figuring out the ridges is the toughest task though. So to handle this, be patient and meditative (concentrating) then all tasks can be done almost effortlessly. All the best.

Pretty easy actually, depending on if you can read, and use legos. You open the system, plug in 3 wires, then you close the system and install the software.
