It does not matter much. The difference between + and - is the format it writes to disc.

Get R+, because you can get them anywhere. If your player also supports DVD-RAM or DVD-RW, either is a better choice, until you get the kinks ironed out. R's (+ or -) are single-use discs.

-Rs will play on ALL DVD players, no matter how old they are. -R is the older technology for DVDs. The first DVD burners were -Rs.

i use R- because they work on all dvd players that i've come across.....R+ don't play on my XBOX and some others i've tried.Get R- to be on the safe side!

i get less errors with +
i found that burning at 4x works the best [less errors]
my burner can rite at 16x
