What motherboard would fit into an Hp Pavilion 8756c that supports pentium 4 and 1000gb of ram ? would i need anything else ? As of now it has a pentium3 857mhz 370 socket 256mb of ram.

A Micro ATX motherboard will fit just about any case. That way you can buy the processor and memory you want. If the power supply is less than 300watts, you could run into trouble with the P4.

A case cost like $20 I don't think it is what you should be using in the process of upgrading.
Also, buy a core 2 duo and not a P4!

My suggestion is to just buy a new case. They're cheap and tell you what kind of motherboard types (form factor) that will fit in it...
Why do it this way? Because you are already buying a new mobo & CPU...
