I have a Windows PC connected to a wired ethernet connection with a usb bluetooth adapter also pugged into it (EDR Bluetooth 2.0). I also have a new black macbook with a built in bluetooth adapter and airport installed. What I am wondering is how can I use my mac book to tap into my internet connection on my Windows PC via bluetooth? I am pretty sure this is possible, I just don't know how to do it.

I want an assigned drive (e.g., S:), and to give permission to the other 5 people in my company to see all files. Ideally, I'd also have other virtual drives with different permissions. Any help is appreciated.

I typed a search into limewire and hit the search button and almost instantaneously my wireless signal in the task bar showed that I had just lost my signal completely. Also showed the same on the limewire "connection" signal. I stopped search and selected to let microsoft run my wireless network instead of the belkin software and now works fine. What gives?

Ever since I have installed my router on my computer, the download speeds on my bittorent client have been very slow compared to when I did not have it. It usually says that a "firewall/router" is limiting my connection. I know it's not my firewall, because I have windows XP firewall on and it never slows down the download speed, before. Also my Bittorent Client would say to open up a port for my clients in my router. I have a "Belkin D-Link" Wireless router, a DSL Modem, and Windows XP. I know my routers ip address by typing "cmd" in "run" then typing in "ipconfig". On every website I have been to it says to type your routers ip address in your web browser which is "Mozilla Firefox". Then it brings me to all the settings for my router. Then all the sites would tell me to look at the top left corner where it will have the option "Advanced Setup">"Port Forwarding". The major problem is that I don't see that! So, Please can anyone show me the process in opening ports in my router!? thx

Does anybody know if any companies sell a pre-configured wireless access point which can charge users for wireless internet access via credit card payments? I'm looking into it for a friend who has a cafe.

I just got a new Gateway laptop, and I have Windows Vista. I have a Netgear router. At first, internet worked on my laptop. I had Mcafee antivirus & firewall at first, but I deleted it for AVG and Comodo firewall, except that Comodo wasn't compatible (really should've checked first..) and it stopped my internet from working. I deleted it, and then my internet worked again, but only briefly. Now it doesn't work, and I have the general Windows firewall. My computer gets the signal from the router, but it won't connect to the internet. I tried diagnosing the problem & repairing it, but nothing works. My desktop's internet works, so I know it's not the router's fault...Can anyone help please? Thanks..

I just place it (repeater) between the router and the destination, right?
I only hook up the power ( hook it to the power outlet), right?
Most of them are like 2 in 1, right( wireless router + repeater) ?
It has another name? when I typed it on yahoo shopping or bestbuy , there were only a few things came up and not all of them were repeaters. Please help me

The computer I am asking about it a dell inspirion 2200. I just got a laptop computer and it has the slot for a wifi card. In order to use wireless internet do I need to get it from my internet company or can I get a card and use it on a cellular signal (thats what I've heard). If I can do that what do I ask for (like what is the card). IF not then what do I need to do to get wireless service?

The 8 computers go through a switch and then to the default gateway (cisco router). Can I do this with subnetting? Thanks in advnce for your help.

This forces me to reboot both router and cable modem. The reliable ISP - small, local, says it is the router. The router settings all look normal to me.

Over the past couple days, my Comcast cable's download speed is having trouble getting much past 500kbps. When I called them, the service rep told me that she didn't see anything indicating a cap or throttle. To verify that this is true, has anyone experienced Comcast slowing down your speed drastically without actually cutting off your service?

Hi. I'm having trouble understanding how a physical T-1 connection would look like.

Are point-to-point T1's the only kind of T1's that exist?
Does point-to-point mean that they connect from the ISP to a location.
Does point-to-point mean that a T1 connects from location to location with the ISP in the middle of the T-1 connection?
When a customer purchases a T-1 line from their ISP, does that provide them with Internet access?

This is really confusing to me. I've tried reading it, but I don't understand. If anyone has any diagrams of a T-1 setup, that would help as well. Thanks!
