try this....go to start ---run----cmd----then type nslookup. If you receive something to the affect of connection refused or no server found than you need to contact your isp. IF you think that you have something there than type in www.yahoo.com. If it resolves your FQDN then you are fine with your DNS connection

If you don't know, you shouldn't have access to a DNS server.
Contact your network administrator or ISP.
