Since making my main PC the sole network internet connection, my internet connection status shows me continually downloading & uploading data. I want to be able to see what this data is and possibly see what local software is controlling the transfers.
I found an app called Network Traffic Monitor, which seems to be what I'm looking for, but I can't seem to find a similar product to compare it to?
Is the a Command Prompt solution?
Any Ideas?

It's a cafe with 512 adsl (1 Mbps in future) and 512 (one-way) satellite connections. what could be the possible steps to maintain maximum security as well as providing the maximum speed to all the fixed and hotspot clients (software as well as hardware req.) how to use linksys WAG200G as an accesspoint for hotspot clients? All the desktop clients' disks are auto-revertable, so how to apply windows updates/ patches, software updates, new installations on all the systems without having to visit each workstation. Is it necessary to install Windows server on the main computer as currently windows xp pro is installed?

We have a transmitter and a reciver on two seperate computers, but they are seperated by a floor and several walls, so signal stregnth is marginal at best. I have heard that you can get things that you can put in between the router and the reciver that will pick up the signal and stregnthen it before it gets to the reciver. Does anyone know if this exists, and, if it does, where I can get one? What are they called?

I have a wired 10/100 network in place where my Laptop and NAS are online at 100 Mb/s.

When I transfer large files from the laptop to the NAS, I see that my throughput is maxxed out at 50% and hovers between 42% and 50% throughout the entire transfer.

Why?

If I have 100 Mb/s to play with, shouldn't the transfer be occuring at upwards of 100 Mb/s?

Is there anything within Windows that I can tweak to raise the ceiling on this capped throughput?

So here i am sitting in my room when my wireless is crap, it keeps crashing. So while i was searching for my own wireless signal i think i came across a neighbours unprotected signal, i thought let me try and connect to see if it works. It worked!

So here i am now using one of my neighbours wireless without them knowing. Is this wrong? or is it ok, until i get a new router? - Please suggest a good router.

Comments please.

I connected all 3 computers using a hub, but they cant get connected. But when i connect 1 computer to another, it's connected.

e.g: comp 1 to comp 2 = connected,
comp 2 to comp 3 = connected,
comp 1 to comp 3 = connected,
comp 1 to comp 2 and 3 [using a hub] = unplugged...

why?
