Let's start modestly....Definition of an ISP....Internet Service Provider.....

Email Server. Capable of delivering mail to a few hundred people and have enough disk space to accomodate

www server for a simple web presence and for you users home pages

For internet service, you would need at minimum an OC3 (155MBS--10XT1) connection to a backbone provider.
You would need some high end authentication servers and some high end switches and routers for your traffic.

If this is something you are considering, I would secure at least $500K in financing to take care of your initial and then ongoing costs...........a single OC3 has a monthly cost of about $7000 and you would need as many customers to pay this cost + initial equipment to break even.

To be a medium scale wireless broadband ISP you would need an enterprise level internet connection such as OC48 to start... To be totally honest though I don't think its something that you should undertake unless you have some serious cash to back it with.

You've got to be kidding. You are asking here?

First, you need an infrastructure that will cost millions. If you still want to continue this discussion knowing the price tag, hire a TEAM of people that can do this for you.
