Our tv has only RCA plug and it is hooked up to the laptop but all we see on tv is black and white.

We have already tried different resolution settings on laptop and also have updated the graphic card's drivers but still useless and everything on tv is still back and white.

what can we do to have it with color ?

My DVD burner doesnt play dvd movies. It reads it but when i tell it to play dvd's it says, "Error Pl4014: Playback failed due to an error with the audio subsystem. Your currently installed auddio driver may not be fully compatible with DirectX..." I have a Dell Latitude C640.

Hi and Merry Christmas! My new PC i just got will not sync with my monitor. When i turn on the computer the monitor will not display anything. It acts like it is in sleep mode or somthing. The green and yellow light blinks but nothing is displayed. Please someone assist. Thank you. Much appreciated.

Is there a way I can uninstall things on my computer to make more room on my RAM? Or is this something I need ot purchase? I'm trying to install a program for my son's new digital camera for Xmas, and the program says there's not enough RAM. The required amount is 245, and I think it says my computer only has 120. How do I check where the RAM is on the computer?

When i turn on the computer this message appears:
The Primary IDE master Hard Drive SELF MONITORING SYSTEM has reported that a parameter has exceeded its normal operating range.
A parameter out of range may or may not indicate a potential hard drive problem.

What does this mean? Has my hard drive reach its Life Limit? Is it Death?

Also is noisy and loud when is working and also slow.

I Trried downloading google earth it went super fast upto 99% where it crashed then i tried to download mozilla firefox which crashed at 24% this is so weird

i use windows vista and a brand new acer laptop

when i play wow sometimes i'll be able to play it for as long as i want and other times it will kick me off the game, like freeze up or lag a lot. i have a pentium d processer, 2 processing cores, 1 GB of ram, an ATI radeon express 200 graphics card, and a pci epress slot. i have the wow video setting turned to its lowest and it still freezes and lags. i was thinking about getting a visionteck radeon 3870, i dont have enough for an 8800 gt. and another GB of ram, but i was wondering which one i should get first, the ram or the graphics card

My Internet Explorer has been infected with annoying pop-up ads. Specifically, pop-ups called "dcads" and "crush calculator" and "intelligent advisor".

Can someone recommend free (preferably) software that is effective against these kind of pop-up ads? I've tried several, some of which I paid for, and nothing seems to be effective.

Any other ideas?

i have this a bit old ibm laptop, it has a usb wireless adapter that i just plug in for wireless internet and also has its installation cd.. i installed using the cd then i plugged the adapter.. the laptop recognized it and when i even open it up from the lower right program area it says that i have a good wireless connection (..picked up from my router)...but the internet still doesn't work.. what did i miss doing?

I set my windows to shut down my monitor if i don't use my computer more than 5 mins (check out LocalCooling.com - It's a neat small software and you will realize why i did that)
As a result my Monitor turns off and on many times during the day (maybe 15 times or more) when i step away from my computer.
So i want to know if doing so will shorten my LCD monitor lifespan or harm it in anyways. I remember my mom used to always tell me as a kid not to repeatedly shut off and on our Sony 10 year old CRT TV all the time cause it reduces the lifetime of its light bulb. Is the same true about LCD monitors or TVs?

okay i got a camera yesterday it is a Photosmart M547, i took a few pictures on it and i wanted to put them on the computer . it said in order to do so i have to download the software which i did so i after i went through that whole process the picture to finish install the software says"click install to continue i look on the left to click install but the only option there is to exit !


can someone please help me out ! i was on the phone with hp for like 3 to 4 hours trying to figure out the problem and then my phone just cut off. pleases someone assit me on this weird problem.

I've recieved a wireless laptop for Christmas and it has been set up for the internet. I already have a router for the PC and that works fine, but I can only access the internet on the laptop if I plug in the USB adaptor that we use for the PC. Do I need to do this if the laptop is wireless enabled? The shop assisstant at PC World said that I wouldn't need an adaptor because the laptop is wireless.
