Can a cordless optical mouse for a notebook be used for a desk top computer??

I bought one for a notebook by mistake. Before I open the package I wanted to make sure it would work. It is a logitech v220. The computer is a Sony Vaio.

Yes.

Just plug the receiver into a USB port and install the software, if required.

yes mine i just plug into any pc that i wish an the pc knows it is there. Some may need to be restarted to know the mouse was hooked up.
