okay i got a camera yesterday it is a Photosmart M547, i took a few pictures on it and i wanted to put them on the computer . it said in order to do so i have to download the software which i did so i after i went through that whole process the picture to finish install the software says"click install to continue i look on the left to click install but the only option there is to exit !


can someone please help me out ! i was on the phone with hp for like 3 to 4 hours trying to figure out the problem and then my phone just cut off. pleases someone assit me on this weird problem.


-i have a Windows XP
-the software that i am trying to download is HP software 9.0

actually, you don't need software to download pictures.
if you connect your camera with a usb cable, windows will recognize the connection - and Windows has a built-in image downloader.
There are other programs on the web that will do the same thing. You'd look for "photo organizers." Picasa is very popular.

As mentioned, most times you not necessarily need the software. It usually have a Photo viewer/editor and if you not have that, then you may nedd the software.
Also, as mentioned Picasa is free and many others.
I read on HP Support about installing. One thing it does mention, do not connect the USB cable until instructed to do so.

Dude, what the other people said was correct but you also have to look in your camera's owner manual and set the camera as a mass storage device.
