First and foremost... Norton 2007 sucks.

My computer is slow as hell. The virus/es copy themselves into fake files so when Norton does catch a virus, it doesn't even matter because there are dormant viruses in other files! It's taking up a lot of space on my computer. I get ridiculous amount of popups (I'm so tired of seeing video porn), which slows the computer down even more.

I've tried numerous adware programs. I've tried to remove the viruses individually with Symantec remoal tools (an example: http://www.symantec.com/security_response/writeup.jsp?docid=2004-112210-3747-99).

I really don't want to reformat the entire computer. I'll lose a lot of files; I'm don't to save anything important on disks and refomat because I'm afraid there will be copies of the virus in important folders. I'm willing to do just about anything besides that. I don care if it takes days.

I'm desperate. Please help!

I have Verizon FIOS as my Internet provider. My Internet speed is really slow and sometimes doesn't work at all. I called to let them know, and they told me that since my upload numbers were so low, it was probably the router. They suggested I bypass the router and plug directly into the computer and they would send me a new router.

Now things are working perfectly, and my connection is faster than ever. My question is, do I need this stupid router? I have no other computers hooked up to the system, and I don't have FIOS TV service. What's the point of the router if there's nothing else going on in the house? Thanks for the advice!

Room mate will not pay fair share of internet access so I changed the password and cut him off. I see he is back online by using an unsecured signal from someone in the neighborhood. Can anything be done about that? No I don't know who has the unsecured wireless.

I have some ideas, and I think I'll go for the 17" screen this time, so its a useful tv in bed too.

I'm going to buy at least a 2.0GHz Core 2 duo with a 4MB cache too.

RAID would be nice.

It seems that there are so many notebooks out there that I can't find reviews to...

Thanks...

In detail what are the features operations and revelantant standards of ISDN.I have some information allready like

Integrated Services Digital Network is a set of digital transmission protocols defined by CCITT. The protocols are accepted by virtually all the world’s communications carriers as standard.
o It builds on groups of standard transmission channels. Bearer channels (or B channels) transmit user information at relatively high speeds, while separate Data channels (or D channels) carry call set-up, signaling and other information.

Two types of ISDN channels. B channels are clear channel "pipes" for user voice and data.
D channels are packet-switched links for call set-up and user data.

o It handles all types of information. Unlike some other digital communications technologies, ISDN handles all types of information - voice, data, studio-quality sound, still and moving images. They are all digitized, and transmitted at high speeds in the same flow of data.

I have a 120g and a 160g harddrive. What I've noticed is say for example, I have used 100g (so approx 20g left) on the 120, and I delete say 10g, I should be left with 30g free space. But that is not the case. I still have 20g free, and 90g used. My hd space is being unaccounted for after I delete files! I have cleared recycling bin, temp files etc but those shouldn't matter anyways. Help would be greatly appreciated. If this sounds like a virus, norton isn't picking it up. Any suggestions?

I would like to know if it is possible to use the FRITZ!Box (http://www.fritzbox.eu) in the US. I'm originally from Germany and always used it over there. I have very positive experiences, so I want to use it in the US too. I know that the DSL standards in the US are different, but I heard that some analog FRITZ!Box models might work in the US. I want to use the box with the provider AT&T.

Has anyone any experiences he or she can share with me? Which FRITZ!Box models work without any problems with AT&T DSL?

Please don't tell me to ask the producer of the box - AVM - or AT&T. AVM gave me some technical details, but they couldn't tell me if the box would work in the US. AT&T had no qualified person to answer my question if their DSL network follows the ITU-T G.992.1 Annex B standard. Meanwhile I found out by myself that it doesn't, because it is an analog network.

Please focus your answers on which FRITZ!Box models work and/or what your own experiences are.

Thank you for your help!
