Is it possible to do it by pressing CTRL and then some other button. Just like how it is possible to print by pressing CTRL + P

Alt+T, then unhold T (but hold Alt) and press W

It means Alt+T to open Tools, then Alt+W to operate Word Count.

Remember to hold the Alt key during the operation

You can either hit Alt + T, and then W, or you can click Tools and then Word Count.
