i looked at some sites that i regret looking at on my laptop. my laptop is school issued, so im pretty sure they can see what i look at online. i erased my cookies and history, is there anything else i can do to ensure no one finds out that i looked at bad sites????

I am a student and will mainly be writing papers, some of them may be lengthy. I use it for letters, an occational flyer, but really nothing else. Word is about $110, while Works 9 is $40.

Is there a real need for me to get Word as opposed to Works 9? My computer came with no word processing ability aside from WordPad and NotePad, which to me are worthless.

My laptop is a $300 unit, which I will probably hand down to my daughter, or just completely get rid of it once I graduate college.

What would you suggest?

My homepage was hijacked by http://thesafetyfiles.com, My internet service provider is bellsouth and I currently have the anti- virus, antispyware, and firewall security suite and still my internet explorer was hijacked ,I've already gone to tools, internet options and typed in the homepage address I was currently using which was aol and I still can't fix this problem I've spoken to my IP and they said I would have to take it down to BestBuy to get it cleaned up anyone who knows how to fix this problem I would appreciate if you can help me ....

is it possible to print the gridelines when the cells are empty? could someone tell me how if its possible? I know how to print the gridelines when i have words in the cells, but not when they're empty

Anyone know what the IP is to connect to a router?? My buddy has told me a few times but I never remeber it. It takes you directly to your router settings where you change security settings, stuff like that.

I am just wondering.... in the past sometimes, i will just delete the folder of a program form C hard drive area (programs and....), does this get rid of the program completely? Or do i actually have to go to control panel and everything? What if i delete the folder and then go to control panel and it is gone, does that mean its actually gone?

I just bought a Linksys router and I am going to hook it up to three computers. One is a dell with windows xp, 2.4 Ghz Pentium 4 processor, 512 meg memory and an 80 Gig hd. The other two i'm not sure will work because they are older. One is a Gateway with windows xp, 300Mhz Pentium 2 Processor, 384 megs of memory and a 9 Gig hd. The last is a dell with windows 98, Pentium 3 processor, 256 megs of memory, and a 10 gig hd.

I am wondering if it is possible to network these all with the Linksys WRT54G wireless router. I would perfer that only people who have experience in networking answer this question. Any help would be great.

I am looking to buy a PC for my son's but do not know much about them. I am on a tight budget and think I may have found one but would like some advise on if it is a good choice.

It's an Acer L100
graphics - Intergrated NVIDIA Geforce 6150

graphic memory - up to 384 shared

hard drive - 160Gb SATA

memory - 1Gb ( 2x512mb) SODIMM

processor - AMD Athlon 64

processor speed - 2400mhz

It has Windows Vista Premium, DVD Rewriter and a 19" monitor and is £380

This is about as high as my budget will allow.

My boys will probably use this for a lot of gaming and the above info means nothing to me.

Could anyone advise me if this is a good buy please ?

also what router would i have to get if i have that card do i need a certain wireless router in order to work, for my notebook card. if i have a WRT54G wireless router linksys. would it work with my card? or a WRT54GS

the products that i am talking about is on wal mart. go to wal mart and go to elecronics and go to computers and go all the way down until you see networking and to to pci cards for laptops and go to routers to see what wireless router im talking about. i want to use those products linksys.

i wanna know how far would i be able to use the internet if i have the card and the router.

I want to upgrade from an ATI Radeon X1600 Pro AGP video card to a X1950 AGP card, but that card requires a PSU bigger than 460 Watts. My motherboard is a ASUS P4C800-E that is 5 years old. Can someone tell me if a 500 Watt PSU will fry the motherboard if i put it on?

I changed the settings of the properties in the "internet protocol" settings with the ip adress, subnet mask, etc. Now later its not even working anymore so i type this question using lan. help! how do i fix this?

I currently have Windows XP and I am looking to try Kubuntu and Beryl, but I want to keep Windows at the same time. I know I have to divide my hard drive or something so that when my computer turns on I have the choice of using Kubuntu or Windows. How do I do this? Also, where can I get Kubuntu and Beryl, and is there any programs/games that don't work with Kubuntu. Also, when I divide my hard drive will I loose any saved files that I currently have with Windows? Also, when I divide my hard drive, does this mean I will only have half the space with Windows and half the space with Kubuntu? And if I decide I don't like Kubuntu, is it possible to "undivide" my hard drive and change back to just Windows? I know Kubuntu is different than Windows in the sense that you have to manually install things, could you please give me some tips as to how to do this and on anything else I should know.

I'm planning to upgrade my motherboard and RAM and useing a new case, but useing the same hd,gpu.cpu,psu, etc. I was wondering if i had to reinstall windows. I dont have a windows cd, my original computer dell, didn't come with one and i cant get another cd from them. My new motherboard and old motherboard are kind of similar chipset wise. My old motherboard is a intel 945p and my new motherboard is a 945gc.

Recently, my fonts style been changed..it looks a little smeared but it didn't look like it previously. But I went to internet options and then went to check the fonts, but the fonts didnt change but it does look changed though because it wasnt like this before.
