Is there a way to lookup what device belongs to a MAC address online were it would say like:
Manufacturer: Apple Computer
Type: Portable (Laptop)
or something similar to that.

can some one give me any advice plz i have just tryed to install my new cam i have windows xp but when it installs it comes up with there was a problem installing this hardware usb device an error occured during instulation of device the l/o operation has been aborted because either thread exit or an appication request
i have tryed 3 times to un and reinstall but keep getting this as well saying my pc is not connected to internet when it is so can some one help plzzz

Its the question im asking for a project. Its obivious that technology is you dont want to step on a rock and crush your home computer. So technology has to start to get more powerful and stop shrinking. Also, do you think that soon that we will have computers get back to the size of computers now, but 10X more power ful?

Please give a good answer, as I may use this for a presentation. Thanks.

I was able to use my laptop's mic input with a mic the other day, now when I tried to get it to work it didnt produce a signal, even with an instrument pluged straight in. ANynoe have ideas why? I checked everything and all seems to be working fine.

I have 1 IDE connection which is connected with my dvd-rw through my hard drive, but i have no secondary to connect my dvd-rom......how can i make both to work...? I bought a SATA hard drive also but still i'm lost.....Can anyone help?

MY DELL LATITUDE D800 HAS A 1.4 G CPU BUT ITS STUCK RUNNING AT ABOUT 600 MHZ I CANT FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM I INSTALLED A SPEED STEP FIX FROM DELL BUT ITS NOT HELPING. I THOUGHT IT MIGHT BE HEAT BUT EVEN WHEN ITS BEEN OUT COLD FOR HOURS IT TAKES ABOUT HALF HOUR TO START UP I DID A SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC AND THE FAN RUNS PERFECTLY. EEN THE POST TAKES A LOOOOOOOOONG TIME AT 600 MHZ IT STILL SHOULDNT TAKE THAT LONG, RUNS OK IN SAFE MODE STARTS UP IN ABOUT 10 MIN BUT STILL CPU IS RUNING SLOW IM STUCK ON THIS ONE. I DONT HAVE THE SYSTEM RESTORE DISKS EITHER COULD ALL THIS BE A DRIVER ISSUE. IM OUT OF GUESSES.

Okay, most people say Linux is made for severs and that kind of stuff. I like like the Ubuntu Linux running on this old laptop my brother put it on a year ago.
My Questions:
1.Can I run Linux on a Apple MacBook Pro?
2.What is the best type of Linux for running on a Laptop MacBook Pro?
3.Can ITunes be used with that type of Linux?
4.Can my IPod video still be used with that type of Linux?
5.Can my PSP be hooked into Linux and have videos put on it?

What is the difference between 32bit and 64bit windows, im not talking about hardware, i just want to know about the software.. i just bought a amd athlon 64fx cpu and it said something about 64 bit windows xp pro.
Does 64 run faster or allow me to do more, and if so.. what?
If i get 32, will it restrict me from doing stuff i could do with 64.. and if so.. what?
may 64 be required for my cpu to work?
and again, please nothing about the cpu or hadware, i have already purchaced that and read all about it in other posts.. i need to know about Windows XP only, thank you.

I can't believe some of the web hosting deals on Ebay e.g. $9 for a year!
Usually you get what you pay for, and this seems too good to be true.
Has anybody had any good / bad or otherwise experiences buying webhosting on Ebay, and would go out on a limb to recommend any particular web hosting seller there?

If there is an article that I find to be EXTREMELY biased how can I let that be known so that it shows up at the top of the article. I have seen this at the top of certain articles before and think it deserves to be at the top of this one article I found. All the footnotes come from a couple of sources that are extremely biased and have a certain political leaning.

We are doing an upgrade in our office from 10 and 10/100 hubs to switches. I was told to look at getting two switches for load
balancing. Here is my question. Why two? Wouldn't I be better off
buying one 16 port switch instead of two 8 port switches?
