i need to get there ip address to trace if they have sent me the viruses on my pc. they threatened me by saying that they would put viruses on my pc and the ip addresses tha have shown up i dont know if it is them or not please help?!

I use a shared computer and I think that some other persons have come to know my password and they may use it. I want to change my password but there appears to be no provision of doing so because the box beside the place, where we fill up the password says: Forgot password. It does not seem to have any option for changing the password. Is it possible to change the password? If so, plz explain the detailed procedure.

ok well, first comes first, my laptop is an Acer TravelMate 2420 series.
I used to have working internet ( wirless ) but now it jsut says it cant find wireless coneections, my dads laptops internet works perfect, but mine dont.
Also, i just got so fed up with it, i wanted to restore it back to systeme defaults with my backup disks it told me to make when i got it. Ive done it before, but now it wont work! it tells me to put in first dicsk. then it does its thing, tehn second, third fourth bla bla bla, but then when its done, it makes me do it all ver again! wth.
ok, and my last concern is that when i try to do jsut normal systeme restore ( to an earlier date ) it jsut dont work. :(

Please help me, im desperate!
I dont want to go and buy a new laptop!

P.S. im taking it to furture shop on sunday, but i need some before hand help. thanks

I've got a computer from work which I'm wiping completely clean (with the proper program) to remove any shred of any files on it. The boss doesn't want the computer and I know a family that needs one so I'm trying to wipe the hard drive, but leave windows on it because we no longer have the Windows CD. I can exclude certain folders from the destruction so should I try to exclude windows files (I don't know how to do this, I'd assume protect the windows folder amongst other things.) Or can I make a boot disk of some sort to reload windows without the CD key? Of course I want to do this legally so no pirating please.

i bought 2 used computers awhile back and pulled 2 video cards that say Graphics by Rage mobility ATI. Under that it says

what kind of card is this? is it good? do i need drivers for it? if so where can i get them? and if i wanted to resell it how much could i get for it? As i said it came out of a used desktop that i used for parts, i have 2 of them any info would be great thanks.

I ordered a Macbook Pro 2.4 ghz 4 gig RAM 160 gig Hdd @7200 last week. While I was waiting for it to arrive, they released a new 2.6 ghz option. If this option were available at the time of ordering, I definitely would have chosen it. I want my new laptop to be as future-proofed as possible. My comp is due to arrive Monday morning. Is it worth the trouble to return my computer, pay an addition $250, and wait another couple of weeks for the extra .2 ghz and slightly larger hdd? Will there be a noticeable difference? I know Apple generally doesn't allow returns for CTO computers, but because of the situation, I was told that they allow returns in these cases. Any thoughts? Thanks!

OK,
I have a router. 2 computers connected to the router.
I put both computers in the same domain.
I shared a folder on one.
From the other I try to connect.

but it cannot find it.

I have an older psu and the 8800 GT come with a dual molex to 6 pin pci connector....would this work for the dual molex to 6 pin adapter put out enough amps for the card. Dont want to have to upgrade psu quite yet...thanks

So i have dialup through my phone company at&t. 9.95 a month but they were going to raise it to 15.95 amonth. So i went to there website and ordered basic dsl for 10.00 a month for 1 year with a 49.95 rebate for modem. I live in Illinois. I'm reading some bad reviews about there dsl not being reliable. I just got a new laptop this summer before going to college, a HP Pavilion Entertainment Notebook PC with Windows Vista. Anyway, it came with a free, limited use (60 day, maybe?) version of Microsoft Office, including Word. Anyway, it warned me that after October 31st it would go to a limited-use version that was only a viewer. So, I uninstalled it and installed a full copy of Microsoft Office, in this case a 2002 version according to the About file.

Now, with my Word 2007 program, I mostly saved documents in the 97-2003 format. However, I saved 12 documents in Word 2007's default "DOCX File" format. Well, turns out those aren't backwards compatable. Word 2002 won't read them, and Notebook and Wordpad just give gobiltygook when I try to open it with them.

So, is there any way I could convert the files to an earlier version of word, or open them with something and copy the text to a Word 2002 document?
