Its the question im asking for a project. Its obivious that technology is you dont want to step on a rock and crush your home computer. So technology has to start to get more powerful and stop shrinking. Also, do you think that soon that we will have computers get back to the size of computers now, but 10X more power ful?

Please give a good answer, as I may use this for a presentation. Thanks.

Both, Computers as we know it are getting smaller and more powerful. Have you seen the new apple? It's basically just a screen, but it's a whole computer.

It's human nature to make things A. more portable(ie. smaller) and B. more powerful(faster)

It's an ever decreasing circle.

You are quite right about devices not getting any smaller, but their respective components will continue to get both smaller & more powerful.

The microchips/circuitry will continue to get smaller, yet more powerful, but there is only so far you can go with the actual device itself as you need, say, a large screen to see things properly with, or a device that can actually fit in your hand. Make it too small & you have another problem!

So you have a bit of both really! (Fill todays tower with tomorrows technology & I'm sure you'll end up with a supercomputer!)

Certain aspects will continue to shrink, such as memory density.

Keep in mind that smaller geometry (ex: CPU technology) often results in an increase in speed and performance and a reduction in power-consumption.

So in answer to your question, it will both become smaller and more powerful.

Technology will continue to grow at a hugh rate. More and more is coming out all the time with more and more on the horizon.
