Yes, CDs are not in anyway magnetic. The data is burned onto the disc (an aluminum substrate) using a laser, so there is no magnetic component involved.

Do not try this with video or audio tape, floppy discs, etc.

yes, cd's you can but floppy disks and your hard drive you cant.
