I need a simple batch file to work on XP that will go into a specific directory and delete all files and sub folders (including non empty directories).

Below is what I had and I thought it worked, but it deletes the root folder too. I need to keep the initial folder and delete everything else.

@ECHO OFF
rmdir "C:\test" /s

echo C:\test has been deleted successfully
echo Please inform the ISD technician that the system is ready

pause

Secondly, is there a way to make it NOT prompt for y or n on deletions? The less intervention of our endusers, the better.

this is actually 2 questions

1. how do I make it so a limited user account cannot delete the cookies or have access to the internet w/o affecting the main account

2. how do I get the windows XP login page (right now I have a little box on a black background that I have to manully put the account name into)

i recently got a new laptop and i put my pictures from my camera or phone on the computer, but when i try to upload the pictures to my bebo site it says invalid format that files must be jpeg but they are, i have checked the file format and they say they are jpeg, i havent had this problem before with my old laptop, can anyone suggest something please? im not 2 good with computers thanks

Yesterday, a techncian came hocked me up with Comcast DSL. It worked fine . I have a wireless G notebook card from Belkin and a Belkin router. Now it is not working. I have my sprint PC card on, but it's kicking me out off sprint PC. But now I am by passing for some reason with the sprint PC. How is that possible? Is a virus to blame for that? It does not work on my desktop computer either. HELP!!!

It says it is suitable for recording to portable audio systems, but I just want to check if anyone knows whether it will work with my laptop, using software like Audacity.

So at work, we have a file server, when i turn on my pc in the morning - type in my windows log on and password then. i have mapped out the network drives on our server to my desktop...everytime i click on it....it asks me for my login account and password. i have a WinXP and ou server is Win2003 server.

howcome i have to do this everytime i restart my pc to connect to my server folders.

but,

on our win2k pc's (clients) dont have to do that....when they reboot the pc....theyre connected automatically

help please

I have created a document in Adobe Illustrator 10 with a sans serif font (Century Gothic). I am creating outlines just in case someone I send the document to is on a mac or does not have the font.

The problem is, any time I create a PDF with the eps file, THE I'S AND L'S ARE BEING BOLDED while I have not done this myself. It is driving me nuts. I have never seen this before.

Has anyone else out there ever encountered this? HOW DO I STOP THIS!?

Hi there,
I just moved my computer from my old place to my new appartment, i just hooked all the cables and set the computer to turn on.... as soon as i turn on the computer..... the monitor (not an LCD) lights up green as its starting up then not even 2 seconds later, it shuts off again and the light turns back to orange meanwhile the actual computer is fine and still on..i can't even go into any settings or anything to check if something is wrong.

why is this happening? i thought it was a cable issue but i tried 3 different cables as i wasnt sure which one was the monitor one and which was the computer... but all the combinations between the 3 cables didnt work.

can anyone tell me why this is happening?
I did move my computer in the past and never had this problem before.
