From HP

If for some reason that link doesn't work, go to www.hp.com, search for v5308ca, then go to the drivers and downloads section, then select your OS. I'm guessing your running Windows XP, since Vista doesn't require Athlon drivers for your CPU.

First of all processors DON'T come with drivers.. Don't listen to these people.. You can't lose your processor.. You may have lost Windows, but not your CPU. No drivers are necessary for your CPU to operate. You may have removed drivers for your motherboard, which a driver CD should have came with your PC, but since it's Compaq it's most likely a restore disc for your whole operating system, not just a driver CD.

You could try reinstalling the drivers from the CD that came with your CPU when you bought it.

When in doubt, go to the maker's web site. AMD is the maker of the Athlon processors.

That is a type of CPU, it is a piece of hardware (a physical thing) and can't be downloaded.
