Hi there,
I just moved my computer from my old place to my new appartment, i just hooked all the cables and set the computer to turn on.... as soon as i turn on the computer..... the monitor (not an LCD) lights up green as its starting up then not even 2 seconds later, it shuts off again and the light turns back to orange meanwhile the actual computer is fine and still on..i can't even go into any settings or anything to check if something is wrong.

why is this happening? i thought it was a cable issue but i tried 3 different cables as i wasnt sure which one was the monitor one and which was the computer... but all the combinations between the 3 cables didnt work.

can anyone tell me why this is happening?
I did move my computer in the past and never had this problem before.

thanks.

make sure the pins are intact on your monitor cable. Most monitors will have a hardwired vga connection. If you have a flatscreen, there may be multiple inputs on the monitor. Make sure it is the correct one. The possibility still exists though, that your video card has gone bad, and would need to be replaced. Just check though first, and make sure you have snug cable connections, and that you have them in the right ports. The monitor port on the computer is usually labeled or colored BLUE. Good luck to you.

It's either a bad monitor (which i doubt though) or your graphic card is giving up on you. Try using a friends monitor and see if it still does that. If it continues after plugging it in a new monitor, then it's your graphic card. You'll have to buy a new graphic card. Most of the times cheap graphic card will go out after a X amont of months or years. You might have to replace it, or if it's a built in graphic card just go buy a new aftermarket graphic card.

sounds like your demonstrate screen is over heating and is shutting off immediately to guard it. you could attempt utilizing a can of compressed air (purchase it in any hardware/computing gadget keep) and sparkling your computing gadget demonstrate screen's air vent holes by blowing air to sparkling out the dusts and airborne dirt and mud it truly is clogging it. and make effective once you position it again, there is area for air air flow.
