Want a full directory of ALL the different wireless technologies?

http://www.thetravelinsider.info/roadwarriorcontent/bluetooth.htm

Explains much in very little time.
Hopefully that helps. Bluetooth and Wifi are both wireless but far from the same thing!

Bluetooth differs from Wi-Fi in that Wi-Fi provides higher throughput and covers greater distances, but requires more expensive hardware and higher power consumption. They use the same frequency range, but employ different modulation techniques. While Bluetooth is a replacement for a variety of applications, Wi-Fi is a replacement only for local area network access. Bluetooth can be thought of as wireless USB, whereas Wi-Fi is wireless Ethernet, both operating at much lower bandwidth than cable networking systems. However, this analogy is not entirely accurate since any Bluetooth device can, in theory, host any other Bluetooth device—something that is not universal to USB devices, therefore it would resemble more a wireless FireWire.

This is an untechnical answer. In a nutshell

Both are technologies for transferring data wirelessly.

WiFi has a much, much longer range and higher data transfer rate. It is good for creating a home computer network.

Bluetooth has a very short-range (< 30 feet). It is primarily used for transferring data between handheld devices and stationary devices. Example - connecting wireless headsets to cell phones, or connecting a cell phone to a car's mobile speaker. Some printers use bluetooth.

yep, wi-fi is an "invisible" internet connection, so to speak, no wire. Bluetooth is very local, within feet, connecting devices you set up to not have a connection wrapping up your hands and so forth with those wires such as a headset plugged into a device. Cell phone stuff to me, but l like opening my phone after seeing who is calling except maybe while biking or having my hands full

Wifi is slang for wireless networking, used to connect computers in a network. Bluetooth generally connects devices to each other or to computers, but it can be used for networking in a pinch. Bluetooth range is smaller and bandwidth available is less.

Wi fi is a higher strength signal meant to connect computers to networks over longer distances.

Bluetooth is meant to be a PAN, or Personal Area Network, to connect devices to YOUR computer at very short distances
