ok so i put in a CD-R and i want to save a report i did to a it so i tried to save it and it said " D:/ is not accesible. incorrect function"
i tried to go to my computer and drag and drop it and it still wont work someone help me please!!

My parents have a pc but i got a mac so they dont have automatic parental controlls anymore. However, they claim they have a program that checks what sites I've been visiting. I am the admin on my mac. Can they check my laptop and does the private browsing feature do anything to prevent it?

i have Windows professional 2000, my friends got a bunch of spyware and viruses on it, i used a few anti virus programs to

fix it but it got rid of the viruses but now my computer will not get past saying "windows is starting up" and than it will

try to start up again, i can start it up in safe mode but that is it, i think i erased some of the important parts that

actually run windows, is their a program that can fix the coponets in windows without having to reboot the computer to

factory settings???

I can have different profiles when I open it up. I think firefox used to do this or does but I can't figure out how. I want to have something that when I open it, it would prompt me which profile I would use. (That way I can have my school bookmarks in one profile, my news bookmarks in another profile, and my personal sites in another. Where each profile would hold its own bookmarks specifically designed for it. ) Is there something that can do this. I don't want an online service, I'm looking for an actual browser or extension for one that would enable this. Thank you for your time.

i am planning to reformat my pc because of a virus...
but the problem is there are some files in my C: that i want to retrieve some files first before reformating... another

prob is i cant access the pc cause the virus stops windows startup...
a window says that it can be resolved by inserting the windows cd and attempt a repair...
will it work....?
so you have any suggestions on how to retrieve my files...
one more thing, i misplaced my windows cd... so i bought a new one with sp2, will it work?
my former windows doesnt contain sp2 in the cd...

I'm looking to purchase software for design and layout. It would be primarily for e-newsletters and preparing pages full of statistics. Because of the statistics, the ability to copy in from Word and possibly Excel would be a must. Some of this may be going up on the web, so internet compatibility would be nice. The results must look professional, and the program shouldn't be too hard to learn. I have had experience with Photoshop, so ideally it should be somewhere along those lines but more geared toward layout. I'm working under a budget, so the best mix of features for the most reasonable price would be ideal. Any suggestions for programs that fit all of this criteria?

What a joke the "Fair Access Policy" is. For the first time I tuned into a live tax update seminar on line (webinar). It was to last about 6 hours. After 2 hours Hughes Net cut me off. To say the least I got ticked off. Figured out that the Fair Access Policy kicked in. Then to top it all off I was "penilized" 24 hours with no service. I thought I was paying for UNLIMITED service. To me unlimited means 24/7 uniterupted service. I'd like to know if this has happened to anyone out there that may have Hughed net satellite service and your experience with it. If it wasn't for the 15 month contract I got roped into I would have cancelled the service when it happened. Unfortunantly I still have 3 months to go. I will cancel when it comes due and give my money to our only DSL provider in the area.

Hi,
I am in the process of building my own site. When I hosted the domain name, I set up the initial page in 'Nucleus' a PHP program. Now, I realize that since I am familiar with HTML, I might as well convert my PHP site to HTML for better content control. The dilemna is; how do I reconvert my PHP based site (in construction phase) to HTML so that I can work on it? Any help?

Hi!! :) I have downloaded and installed the VLC media player and it has converted all of my AVI files to .cue and my Window Media Player (my preferred player) cannot open them.

OK, so I asked some previous questions where I thought the harddrive died in this computer I was messing with. But I wanted to examine all directions before I called it junk and tried to sell it for parts. So I made a Windows 98 SE Boot CD and put it in the computer and started it up. It looks different, at least it's not telling me Operating System Not Found anymore. It tells me it's in PC-DOS or something and that it is preparing to start up my computer. But it stops when it gets to a line saying A:/> and I guess it's wanting me to put a boot floppy in. But I want it to boot from this CD I made. I can't make a floppy, the only computer that has a floppy drive is this one that I can't get to work right lol. Besides, I doubt I even HAVE a blank floppy since they are pretty obsolete. Now I changed the boot order too so it would boot from the CD-ROM first but still no dice. What have I done wrong or what have I failed to do? Help?

I just bought this vid card and right now my power supply is 425W. I have 2 optical drives, 1 hard drive and a P4 processor. When I play a game like Battlefield 2, I can smell my computer overheating, I think its the power supply, but I'm not sure. Do I need more wattage on my power supply or is it something else?

I mean, it could be a random display of random friends of someone's but i've been noticing lately (or maybe i'm paranoid lol) that my pic or someone else's appear very often especially when i enter someone's profile and viceversa. Is it due to "more activity in this profile from.." or what.. What do you think?

I currently have two stick of ram in my system; 1 256mb pc2100 and 1 256mb of pc2700. I have ordered a stick of 512mb pc3200. My machine has 2 slots for ram and will accept up to 2 gb of PC 3200. Would it be better to install the 512mb pc3200 by itself or would it be better to install it with the 256mb pc2700?
