why is my dell dimension fan really loud?

i have a dell P4 2.8ghz, 1 gb hd, its just over a year old and the fan is on and eventually gets extremely loud, why? can i replace the fan? should i ?

Hi. It may be unbalanced by dust. Clean it with a cotton swab on both sides or each blade.

LOL I kknow why MINE is loud..because i couldn't get the damn thing screwed back in right after i upgraded my RAM , i keep saying i'm gonna work on that LOL but i never get around to it

clean the case and make sure the vents on all sides of the pc are not blocked.
