I mean, it could be a random display of random friends of someone's but i've been noticing lately (or maybe i'm paranoid lol) that my pic or someone else's appear very often especially when i enter someone's profile and viceversa. Is it due to "more activity in this profile from.." or what.. What do you think?

Those are completely random and generated everytime you view the page

I've wondered that too!! Even after I view my friend's profiles, I'll go back to mine and the order is all changed up again...

I think it's random. And then I noticed that a Top Contributor of Facebook wrote that it's random. So yeah, I think it's random. (Atleast I hope so! lol)

No its just a random group of people displayed. You can't find out who has been viewing your profile.

I think you've answered your question, I have several people that have only written once. and they seem to kind of disappear from view.
One thing I have noticed that when I go on a friends site my picture is at the top of their list , and trust me i know yahoo has something to do with that .

The six people you're asking about is the friends in his/her primary network. The three people above that is mutual

are you referring to friendster? if you are, well those are selected by the user. I'm not sure with the other profiles.
it means, the user thinks more of you than the rest of his friends in the network

Umm, i think those would be your top friends.
You choose who you want to be in your top friends depending on how much you like them or by however you want.
