My parents have a pc but i got a mac so they dont have automatic parental controlls anymore. However, they claim they have a program that checks what sites I've been visiting. I am the admin on my mac. Can they check my laptop and does the private browsing feature do anything to prevent it?

If you are the Admin on your Mac & You have a password they can't get Access to what you View on there. You can Delete the history from anyone finding it by looking on your Files, but there is always a way to find your History of every single thing you do on your Computer. Truthfully I don't know how to find it that way, but I know some who can. If your parents aren't that good with Computers, then you have no worries. I'm not exactly sure with Mac, but I know more about the PC if you do have any Questions you can E-mail me. I'll be gladly to help you if you need it!

There are many network tools that will allow them to "see" what sites you are visiting. There's nothing you can do to hide your activities.

"I am the admin on my mac" is also a very bad idea.

NEVER run any Linux based operating system as "Root". Create a separate "Normal User" account for daily use.
