My lap top computer is doing strange things. it clicks the mouse itself and jumps pages etc.the cursor does stange things and highlights whole sections on word and deletes things that i just want highlighted etc. i have changed to external mouse but no different. have tried switching off mouse etc, have run virus check - clear, have run cleaner, and did system restore but seems to be worse now. I had the computer check the disc (sorry not good with computer and just do what is suggested by others, dont really know what it was computer was doing). anyway that didnt highlight any problems.

Any ideas ? I am worried as working on 4 essays and dissertation so cant have system crash. Please answer in basic language please!

My daughter got married about a month ago and we just got the proofs back. They are digital and on cd. I want to upload them to shutterfly and make a hardbound book for her as a gift. The problem is when I try to crop some of the pictures it tells me that it couldnt do it because of a program error. This only happens on good pictures of the bride and groom. Is it possible they have somehow copy righted certain pictures so that I cant make copies or do anything with them? I also tried to up load to walmart photo department and nothing shows up? I am using adobe photoshop. They do not offer the hardbound book I want. And I'm not sure what to do. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

recently my computer when idling or put in hibernation mode will appear to come back up with a green screen and flicker to the normal screen. i dont know why it does this and of course dell cant help me. ive ran virus scans , tried reformatting, defragmenting, and changing the screen resolution. please help!

I have the internal DVD burner and an external HP dvd 940 burner also attached to my computer. I am burning multiple copies of the same slideshow and I was wondering of there was any way to burn copies on both DVD burners at the same time so that I could get them all burned faster.

Suppose I have an array of 8 numbers x(1)=.15, x(2)=.50, x(3)=.02 etc. where x(1) + x(2) + x(3) ... x(8) = 100%

I want to write a subroutine that generates random numbers 1-8 where the chance of a 1 is 15%, the chance of a 2 is 50%, the chance of a 3 is 2%, etc. - according to the percentages in my table.

I just want an idea how to do it, not the actual code.... thanx!

I have tried EVERYTHING. proxies worked great until about 2 months (my senior year in DECA OFCOURSE). All proxies are blocked, all free hosts EVERYTHING. Vtunnel.com worked for a little while very limited but it and all of its sister sites were soon blocked. I have nothing better to do in this DECA class but do the weekly projects and surf the internet which is atm NOT available. I have access to the teacher log in to windows, but it doesnt allow me to get past the blocker. Someone PLEASE help so I can pass this senior year a little more smoothly.

I had etrust but it was a year old and I need updates right. But the guy assured me that etrust is now CA. He said $60 n I said kool send me the Suite. He sent me the suite. I checked on the net, after I received it, (i bought my lap top from him so I trusted him right!) and lo, there is actually a 2008 version already out. Plus, where my old etrust was great, this one suddenly lets in pop ups that I had never seen before. Why didnt I get the 2008 version is gonna be my question to him. Further on the pack it says OEM version, not for individual retail sale... anyone let me know what happened!!! please!

It says it's from: Mail delivery system
Subject: Mail delivery failed. return to sender

So, I know you get these if you sent something to someone & their mailbox was full or you accidentally mis-spell the address or something, But this isn't what is happening.
I did NOT send anything to anyone & especially not to these strange e-mails addresses they say I am sending stuff to. I got 7 of these e-mails yesterday & 4 more this morning. Do I have some virus or something?

I never did this b4 nor i have any idea if this work. please tell me if this works or not..

right now i have 100% working OS with softwares n there updates. OS with software is in C: drive n nothing more in it. size is about 6.5GB.

say i have backed up the entire C: drive in DVD, n due to some reason i had to format my OS drive erasing all the softwares n updates.

if i install the OS again after formatting, is it possible that i copy paste/overwrite the OS with the back up i made consisting of the installed softwares,updates.

will the running OS allow overwriting? or i will i have to overwrite it in dos mode, n if in dos mode then what will be the commands for it.

gets fed up with installing softwares wasting time in updates...so was wondering if i can cut the installing n updating part as i have quite a lot softwares installed.


I use winxp pro as my OS.

Can someone please explain how to write a Count Sort or Quick Sort in VB or VBA? I need a step by step explanation with some example code.

I'm wanting to learn how to program a Count sort due to it's fast processing of large arrays.

The sort method will be used to match the values in two columns in Excel. Fast matching techniques for large arrays is what I want to focus on.

I can write a macro that matches the data up, however I want to improve the speed of my macro for large lists of data.

If there is another method that works better I'd be open to learning that. I'm not interested in learning the Bubble Sort method. It is too slow for my large lists.

What is wrong with my PC? I've run a virus scan several times and it comes up with no virus but I do get this warning that says if you open with activeX controls, it may damage your computer. I have to click on it because it's the only way to view my pictures and jpegs.

I am doing a quiz project for the school exam. I have to check if file length of a file is zero ( concept of files). Can I use tellg() ?
I am implementing it in a class .Then I use if() statement to check if file length of a file which stores the quiz questions is zero( i.e there are no questions). If it is zero Then I invoke another function asking the user to input questions first.
Here should i use tellg() to check if there are no questions in the file.


P.s: I don't want it to be too complex...as I've been learning c++ only from june 2006
