I got a brand new Lenovo laptop 2 weeks ago. I've been using the wireless internet through the family computers router and its been working perfectly. I've been all over the house with it and always have great service. Then I turned it on this morning and the internet wont work. I've tried everything. I even spent an hour being transferred through all the different extensions on their "help" line until the guy told me to go online and get help from their website- hello, no internet. So now I'm back at square one. Why did it suddenly stop? And how can I get it back working? I called comcast and he told me to restart my computer... Like I didnt think of that yet. I can't find help anywhere! Please help!!

I want to use it as a HDD and there is an eSATA port next to my USB port on the HDD casing but have no idea what this will do. Any advice will be good.
both my HDD are 400g if that also helps

I have run norton and antivir, and here is the problem. three tojans could not be removed:

TR/Didr.IstBar.ER
TR/Didr.INSer.13824
TR/Drop.Silly.C.1

the biggest problem that I have is that one of those or all of those are affecting my system in a way that i have no access to my system anymore. i cannot go into control panel, i can't even remove hardware safely, cannot view my cookies,... no nothing! i keep getting the message to ask a system administrator because i have no access. hello-o!!! i AM the system administrator!!!

i feel kinda helpless. so, if anyone has any idea what so ever, please, please, please let me know.

I have a linksys BEFW11S4 version 4 router. (I know it is crappy, but someone stole my good one). My computer does not recognize it, says I need to install a driver, can not find a driver, etc, but obviously my computer runs internet through it.

I have Vista and no install CD-- how do I get the computer to recognize what kind of hardware it is? Or, where can I get a driver? I followed instructions on linksys.com, but when I go to the IP address and enter the password they say, it says invalid.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

I ran a diagnostic program (SIW) and it picks up both cores just fine, but when I goto Task Manager it only shows 1 cpu core no matter what view settings I use. Also, there is not any difference in multitasking from my old single core. I'm just wondering if I need to re-install XP to utilize the full potential since I simply used ASR to get from my old setup to my new one. I also tried updating AMD software from their site to no avail.

I am going to start a web business and hire some developers eventually, but I am planning ahead and trying to figure out all the software/hardware they'll need. One thing that I have noticed is its extremely important to secure the deletion of files - especially since they will be using laptops (which can be stolen).

I have used hard drive scrubbers before to prepare to sell a PC on ebay, but our company will be Mac based. What are the best and most trusted for Macs?

Any additional information on business security are appreciated too.

Okay you guys. I really need your help. I dont know what the deal is with my computer. When I turn it on, it seems fine and it loads like it usually does. Then it goes to a black background with white font and it says "VERIFYING DMI POOL DATA....... DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER"

I tried pressing enter, did reasearch on it and i didnt get anywhere. If any of you guys can help, i'd really appreciate it. I just started school again. And if you're a high school student, you know how much we need a computer. Am i right, or am i right? Haha.

Some helpful information..
-My computer is a WINDOWS XP.
-And i was on it alot during the summer, maybe it overheated?

i need your help urgently, somehow someone in the office downloaded t programme called "tonethis" and we can not get rid of it! even deleted it out of the registry, uninstalled it, rebooted and it is still on the screen, it wont close no matter what i do!

A friend of mine just bought a new HP laptop with Vista and in setting up the wireless it works itermittently or sometimes shuts off for a while. Ive already configured the the router twice and tried changing the channel. There are also no other networks in area and even if its within five feet of router it dies the same thing. I was thinking compatability issues and I need to to insert the card into the laptop or there is some setting I am overlooking. Any suggestions will be helpful since this getting annoying since her old laptop never had problem with this at all.

i have a NVIDIA GeForce 6150 LE...ppl said its bad for 3d gaming (flyff) soo i want to get a new graphics card. I want one that is pretty cheap and doesnt cost a lot. I tripped on my laptop cable and now I have a problem recharging my battery. The laptop will still work from the battery, but if I only plus the AC adapter in, it won't charge. BUT, if I connect a USB device like a printer, or an s-video cable connected to my TV, then the battery charges and the laptop will run off the AC.

I also notice that I don't necessarily have to put the USB cable firmly in the port; as long as it's just touching some metal on the inside the laptop, it will charge. It could have something to do with being a ground....

Any ideas on what I can do or should do?

I think I need to upgrade my graphics card to use Pixel Shader 3.0 which is required on a new game I have recently purchased. I currently use a radeon x850 series [x1900DS ] on a ATI PCI Express Motherboard. Do indeed need to upgrade on the hardware side on things? If so, then to what recommend graphics card?

I have a decent computer, and I want to know weather I should buy a new video card and memory for the existing mother board, or should I get a new motherboard along with a cpu, memory and gaphics card. Here is my rig.

Asus motherboard with a p4 3.0 cpu 800mhz fsb
radeon 9600xt agp graphics card
512mb of ddr 3200 ram

So, should I get a better agp graphics card, and 2 gigs of ram, or would it be better to upgrade to the newer processors, ram and pci-e with a new mobo?

Also, any suggestions on a list of parts?
I play games like far cry, halo, hl2, cod 2

I know I can do that by deleting those things that look like backward Ps but there's a whole lot of them. Is there any way to mass-delete them like the way you can change words by using the find/ replace thingy.
